The Milwaukee Bucks’ season is cratering without Giannis Antetokounmpo on the court, and they’ll be without the Greek Freak again tonight as they visit a Minnesota Timberwolves team that’s got its own superstar back in the lineup.

Anthony Edwards led Minnesota to a statement win over the Thunder on Friday after a three-game absence, and my Bucks vs. Timberwolves predictions and NBA picks signal one-way traffic at Target Center tonight.

Bucks vs Timberwolves prediction

Bucks vs Timberwolves best bet: Timberwolves -12 (-110)

The Minnesota Timberwolves have climbed into the Top 6 in the West on the back of an impressive December, and the Giannis-less Milwaukee Bucks should be easy pickings.

This Minnesota squad is surging after victories over the Thunder, Warriors, Spurs, and Celtics within its last 10 games. Anthony Edwards & Co. are 10-5 at home this season, and I expect a no-nonsense approach from the hosts tonight.

With Edwards back, the Wolves have a ceiling as a contender, though Chris Finch will surely have loved what he saw from Julius Randle, Rudy Gobert, and Jaden McDaniels while Ant was out. Minnesota has covered the spread in three of its past four contests, and I’m comfortable laying a double-digit spread in this spot.

However, this pick is just as much about the slumping Bucks. Milwaukee has dropped seven in a row on the road while tumbling to an 11-17 record overall, and the visitors are painfully short of scoring options, especially when taking on elite defenses.

Kyle Kuzma could return from an illness, but the Antetokounmpo-sized void in the starting five stacks the odds against the visitors keeping this close. There’s real blowout potential, and that’ll only amplify the noise around a Giannis trade.

Bucks vs Timberwolves same-game parlay

Edwards finished with 12 boards in the win over OKC, and he’s gone past this number in four straight outings. He seems to be making a more conscious effort to help out on the glass this month after averaging just 4.6 rebounds per game in November.

The Bucks need that kind of mindset from Myles Turner to counter Minnesota’s physicality. Turner’s stat lines have been sub-par in December, but he finished with six boards against the Raptors on Thursday, and he’s averaging 5.5 rpg overall this season.

Bucks vs Timberwolves SGP

  • Timberwolves -12
  • Anthony Edwards Over 5.5 rebounds
  • Myles Turner Over 4.5 rebounds

Our "from downtown" SGP: Board man gets paid!

Rudy Gobert has dominated the glass in his last four outings, grabbing 14+ rebounds in three of those contests, and I like this Over for the Stifle Tower. This Bucks offense is stuck in the mud, scoring 105 points or fewer in three of the last five games, so look for plenty of misses for Gobert to vacuum up.

Bucks vs Timberwolves SGP

  • Timberwolves -12
  • Anthony Edwards Over 5.5 rebounds
  • Myles Turner Over 4.5 rebounds
  • Rudy Gobert Over 11.5 rebounds
