Dylan Cease brings elite strikeout stuff into the series finale on normal rest. Kazuma Okamoto also draws a dream matchup against left-hander Trevor Rogers, who has been torched by right-handed power.

The Toronto Blue Jays look to close the weekend with a win over the Baltimore Orioles this afternoon while sitting one game back of the final American League wild-card spot. Toronto is a -150 favorite in my Blue Jays vs. Orioles predictions, with first pitch set for 1:37 p.m. ET at Rogers Centre.

My card starts with Dylan Cease’s strikeout prop before leaning on Kazuma Okamoto in both the same-game parlay and the home run market. It's all part of my MLB picks for this Sunday, Sept. 13 matchup.

Orioles vs Blue Jays predictions

Orioles vs Blue Jays best bet: Dylan Cease Over 8.5 strikeouts (+110)

Dylan Cease owns one of baseball’s best strikeout profiles, and his ceiling is worth backing at plus-money. The Toronto Blue Jays ace has piled up 227 strikeouts in 161 1/3 innings, good for 12.66 strikeouts per nine and a strikeout rate north of 35%.

The Baltimore Orioles provide him with a reasonable matchup to chase nine punchouts. Orioles hitters have struck out at roughly a 23% clip against right-handed pitching over the last month, and Cease has already reached double digits against this lineup, with 10- and 13-strikeout performances among his previous starts against Baltimore this season.

Toronto also pushed Cease from Saturday to Sunday to keep him on normal rest, and plus-money odds on the best arm in the building is the number I want. I’d play this down to -105.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Cease has been even nastier at home, racking up 120 strikeouts across 80 1/3 innings at Rogers Centre, a rate north of 13 punchouts per nine.

Orioles vs Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

For Sunday’s parlay, I’m pairing Cease’s strikeout upside with Toronto’s best right-handed power matchup against Trevor Rogers.

Kazuma Okamoto Over 1.5 total bases fits nicely against the Baltimore lefty. Okamoto owns a .515 slugging percentage against southpaws with nine home runs in 136 at-bats, while Rogers has allowed 15 home runs to right-handed hitters this season.

The Blue Jays' moneyline completes the ticket. With Cease piling up strikeouts and Okamoto doing damage in the middle of Toronto’s lineup, both outcomes point toward a Jays win.

Orioles vs Blue Jays home run pick: Kazuma Okamoto (+305)

Okamoto is getting the shortest home run price on Toronto’s board, and Sunday gives him the clearest matchup advantage. The right-handed slugger has hit nine home runs against left-handed pitching this season while slugging .515 in those matchups.

Trevor Rogers carries a significant platoon split of his own, surrendering 15 home runs to right-handed hitters compared with only one against lefties. Okamoto brings the type of raw power worth paying for at +305, and I’d rather back Toronto’s most significant right-handed threat than chase a longer price against a pitcher who's handling lefty bats extremely well.

Brett Bateman at +1250 looks fun after homering in consecutive games, but the matchup works against him. Rogers has allowed just one homer to a left-handed hitter all season, which makes Bateman a long shot. I’d play Okamoto to +275 for a quarter unit.

Orioles vs Blue Jays trend

The Blue Jays are 16-11 against the spread in Cease’s starts this season, a sign of how often they pull away when he takes the ball. Find more MLB betting trends for Orioles vs. Blue Jays.
