Seiya Suzuki has been one of the top bats in the league this season, especially against left-handed pitching — a key edge heading into this matchup.

My Cubs vs. Yankees predictions back Suzuki to make a major offensive impact in what shapes up to be a high-scoring, tightly contested series at Yankee Stadium.

Let’s break things down with my July 11 MLB picks.

Cubs vs Yankees prediction

My Cubs vs Yankees best bet: Seiya Suzuki Over 1.5 hits, runs, RBI (-113 at Caesars)

Seiya Suzuki is putting up monster numbers as one of the driving forces on a Chicago Cubs offense that ranks tied for first in runs per game.

He has been at his best against left-handed pitchers, taking his numbers up a notch while pacing the team in pretty much every major offensive category.

He leads all Cubs in homers, slugging, OPS, wOBA, and barrel rate, while getting on base better than 37% of the time.

Suzuki has averaged 2.5 hits, runs, & RBI and cleared his line at a healthy 52% clip this season. Isolating games in which he faced off against a left-handed starter, Suzuki has averaged 3.0 hits, runs, & RBI and managed an incredible 60% hit rate.

Carlos Rodón is a very good pitcher but he has been touched up more of late, allowing at least three earned runs in five of his past seven starts.

Don’t be surprised if Suzuki gets to him Friday night.

Cubs vs Yankees same-game parlay (SGP)

Seiya Suzuki Over 1.5 hits, runs, RBI

Aaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases

Cubs +1.5

Aaron Judge has averaged 2.7 total bases per game this season. After a quiet series finale against the Mariners, I expect Judge to bounce back against Chris Flexen. He is 3-7 against Flexen over the past few years, with all three hits going for extra bases.

The New York Yankees haven’t had their starter go six innings in eight consecutive games. They’ve put plenty of wear and tear on their bullpen. With Rodon slowing down a little bit, the Cubs should be able to score enough to keep it close.
