Crank up the Journey and fire on the Rice-A-Roni. The Super Bowl is headed for San Francisco when the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots clash for the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday, February 8.
I break down the opening Super Bowl LX odds and initial line movement, and provide my early Patriots vs. Seahawks predictions and NFL picks for the Big Game below.

Early Seahawks vs Patriots spread pick: Seattle Seahawks -5
-110 at BetMGM (USA)
-110 at BET99 (Canada)
The look-ahead line listed the Seattle Seahawks as a 3.5-point neutral-site favorite in Super Bowl LX. Once it was official, most books followed suit with Seattle hitting the board between -3.5 and -4, after an impressive win in the NFC Championship.
That spread didn’t stick around long, and early play on the Seahawks swelled that spread to as high as -5 on Sunday night. That movement may not stop there, as some shops are asking Seattle -5 at -115. If you like the Seahawks, try to avoid laying much more.
A 6-point spread could be the ceiling, so if you like the New England Patriots, you will want to wait this out and see if you can get them as underdogs at that key number. If New England +6 appears, it won’t stick around long, as I expect buyback will level this line off to Seattle -4.5 or -5.
My first bet of the Super Bowl was scooping Seattle on the moneyline below -200, but the outright price on the favorite has since soared to as high as -240 at some sportsbooks. Playing the moneyline keeps things clean and simple, but comes at a price on Super Sunday.
Early Seahawks vs Patriots total pick: Over 46.5
-110 at BetMGM (USA)
-110 at BET99 (Canada)
The look-ahead markets listed this possible total at 45.5 points before the events of Championship Sunday. The official opening Over/Under was a tick higher at 46.5, following the Seahawks’ impressive offensive effort in the NFC title game.
We did see some initial play on the Under, which slimmed the total to 46 at some books. However, 46.5 O/U looks to be the industry consensus on Sunday night. Bookies know that over the next two weeks, there will be no shortage of Over action from casual bettors, so they’re hesitant to drop this number below the key total of 46 O/U.
I am leaning toward the Over, but want to see a shorter ask.
Seattle has put up plenty of points in its two tournament outings and has been strong on third downs and inside the red zone. New England, on the other hand, has struggled to move the chains against three strong defensive opponents, but I do see a clearer path to points.
New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is no stranger to Super Bowl game plans and will have two weeks to study and scheme for Seattle’s defense. Quarterback Drake Maye presents a problem, given his ability to make plays with his legs when things break down.
The Patriots offense is capable of big plays, and this trip to Levi’s Stadium will be the best game conditions (likely) that New England has played in in some time, especially when you consider its playoff run has been plagued by cold, wind, and snow.
