We have a busy betting slate in Major League Baseball this afternoon, including a rubber match between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Detroit Tigers.
Alejandro Kirk is a singles machine, and my Tigers vs. Jays predictions have him continuing that trend this afternoon in the series finale against Detroit’s rookie starter.

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: TEASER
Alejandro Kirk O 0.5 singles (-138 at BetVictor)
The Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers tango in a matinee affair to decide a series winner.
Detroit took the first game 5-4, and then the Jays came from behind to beat the Tigers 2-1 with a 9th inning walk-off.
If you rewind the tape to the 8th inning where the Jays tied the Tigers, it came off the bat of a pinch-hitting Alejandro Kirk, who poked the ball into the outfield for an RBI single.
It was Kirk’s 22nd hit over his last 17 games, during which the Jays’ backstop is hitting .361 over that stretch. Of the 22 hits, 18 have been singles.
That’s where I see value in betting the Kirk market. He’s been one of the best contact hitters in baseball this season, ranking in the 91st percentile in xBA and the 94th percentile in squared-up rate. If Kirk gets hold of one this afternoon, let’s be honest, there’s a strong chance he’s only picking up one bag off the crack of the bat.
The Tigers are sending top-pitching prospect Jackson Jobe to the mound for his 8th career start. His road struggles are another significant reason as to why I have faith in Kirk finding a way to knock out a single this afternoon.
It’s been an up-and-down rookie season for Jobe. His record looks great at 3-0, but that’s largely due to the significant run support he’s gotten to compensate for his struggles.
Jobe has a 4.52 ERA, with an xERA of 4.37. He’s been dealing with control issues throughout the season, with 20 in his seven starts.
However, it’s Jobe’s inability to retire batters on the road that gives me confidence in Kirk’s chances of reaching base in this game. He’s been lights out at Comerica Park this season, with a 2.30 ERA, just one home run allowed, and a 9.2 K/9 stat line. On the road, though, Jobe’s ERA has ballooned to 6.11 on five homers, 12 runs, and just 5.2 K/9.
In case you were wondering, today’s game is being played in Toronto. Advantage Kirk, who’s batting .281 at Rogers Center this season.
Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)
For the first leg of our SGP, we will stick with the best bet and take Alejandro Kirk to go Over 0.5 singles.
Next for my same-game parlay, we’ll continue to back the Blue Jays' bats and take Bo Bichette to go Over 0.5 hits. He’s recorded a hit in three consecutive games and six of his last eight outings with a .387 average during that stretch.
For the final leg of our SGP, let’s take the Under on Jobe’s strikeouts, which is set at 3.5. He’s gone Under this number in three of his four road starts and has only managed to pitch through five innings once in those games. Additionally, the Jays have the fourth-lowest strikeout rate in all of baseball.
