SN, please explain how we are to understand units: +2.38
I really have problems with this.

I think most of your readers take it in this way:
(I will use only one game for illustration: Tigers RL)

When you post the pick the line is +172
You don't buy Tigers RL at this time. 30 minutes before gametime you assign units to the pick, lets say you assign 8 units to Tigers RL.
20 minutes before gametime you buy 8 units Tigers RL.
The best line at this time is +150.
Tigers RL is a winner, so you have a profit of 8*0.50 = 4 units.
The posted pick was +172, so IF you had bought 8 units to this price, the profit is 8*0.72 = 5.76 units
This is 1.76 more than YOU actually won.

So is the 2.38 units only a theoretical number?

I mean, if you knew the line would move to +150, you surely would have bought at +172 instead of +150.

2units is the actual produced profit, not a theoretical number(I don't use theoretic stats) I or anyone else have no way of knowing what the line movement is going to be, take the early line, or wait, that's the decision of the capper, and the gamble he takes to gain advantage/edge...Your calculations are not even close, nor is your insight into my form..un-less you have a total understanding of BR/RC formula, connected to the PAC symbol of handicapping units, I would recommend you review the thread, and educate yourself if interested..by the way, those involved in this thread sit at the same table(sabermetrics BR/RC) and have a complete understanding of concept, and the work attached to it.

your not on the same page, or reading the same chapter, your approach to this thread is transparent, as is your post/commentary, to challenge, rather than contribute, your objective is obvious(attention)  If you have 'problems' then simply do not enter, the thread.."MLB system releases" has NO problems, I can assure you... This is a documentation, not a 'picks' gallery for bottom feeders, my plays are "my" plays, that I wager on.. the only impression is on my bank account, not on your need of immature comprehension to handicapping units...best regards, SN

I'm afraid you don't understand my question.

I have used sabermetric methods as a handicapping tool for 5 years with great success.
I have never played a single of your posted plays if I did not have the same play myself.
I have no interest in getting attention, but I have an interest in being better to use my own methods, and a thread like this in an open forum can accomplish that.

I played Tigers RL +150 for 2 units, so MY bank account increased by 1 unit.

I don't understand how it would be possible to earn 0.72 units without betting the early line. And you have posted several times that the PAC system of handicapping units is applied 30 minutes bgt.

When you post a profit for the day of +2.38 are Tigers RL graded by +172?
    A simple question.

Of course not, that is the opening line, posted 8hrs in advance... you really need to go somewhere else and surf, or start your own thread on how "amateurs handicapp units" I owe you no explanations, for anything involving my documented work..because you don't understand, does not make SN responsible of your comprehension level; Good bye............

I think you need to have a look into how to read american odds.
2 units at +150 will return 3 units profit, not 1 unit.

    +150 -> 2.50 in decimal odds, not 1.50

    1.50 -> -200 in american odds

I really hope you weren't playing the runline at 1.50, because that is even lower than than the moneyline odds on Detroit. As good as being conned that!!

Question: why on a line of +172 are you multiplying an 8 unit wager by 0.72?
Wouldn't the correct way would be 8 x 1.72, which would be a profit of 13.76 units
    100$ bet at +172 = $100 x 1.72 = 172, not $100 x 0.72 which would equal 72.

I think 3put got his unit measurements mixed up. Not the first time someone has done this on this thread in questioning SN.

Please notice then, that the unit amount SN post is the amount HIS personal bank account profit.

Well said SN.  Although I am jealous of the lines you are getting.  Haha  Yesterday, I came out with -0.8 where you made well over 2 Units.  Good for you, keep it up.

Thank you SN for the plain answer.

Please notice then, that the unit amount SN post is the amount HIS personal bank account profit.

It's only an information from SN, a documentation, you can NOT expect to get the same units from the posted lines.

Well said SN.  Although I am jealous of the lines you are getting.  Haha  Yesterday, I came out with -0.8 where you made well over 2 Units.  Good for you, keep it up.

No need to be jealous, the above posted plays can "all"  be gotten for the price indicated, or better, some have flucuated through out the day, I am sure you have the understanding to coincide "line shopping" with the information available on vegasinsider.com very simple procedure

SN, isn't the Mets 5 innings odds for the 2nd game (Niese)?
Santana's odds are much lower (around -140 to -150)
