The fact that Green Bay doesn't play well in domes is an overhyped stat.  They have won 3 of the past 5 in Detroit, and won the only game that they have played in a dome so far this year, against Minnesota.
 
Detroit can't run the ball against Green Bay, and the Packers have a secondary capable of shutting down the Lions receivers.  The Lions only scored 10 points last week against the Giants at home, and the Packers secondary is better than the Giants.
 
Favre should have no problem picking apart the Lions defense.  Grant is a little banged up, but it looks like he is good to go.
 
Green Bay may be due for a letdown sometime, but I do not see them looking ahead to the Dallas game, especially when they can almost wrap up the division with a win here.
 
In a 3.5 point game, I'll take my chances with Favre and force Kitna to beat me.

Nowhere had I placed Green Bay in the same category as New England. No one needs to wonder just why the Patriots are crushing everyone. With the Packers, it is clearly different. This is the start of a small losing streak for Green Bay.

Typical NFL will see the Pats covering. The game isn't worth touching. The current spread of -23.5 is merely locker room motivation for the Eagles. Again, it isn't coming from me. You won't find that I put words in your post; not needed as for mine. Keep a post civil, not asinine.

I have a rough time with this game.  Being a long time Det fan, they always show up to play on Turkey day.  I think I just saw that in last matchups, at turkey day, Det is 11-5 aganst GB.
 
Det needs this game, GB is relaxed and thinking about next week.  Det has a good chance to sneak up and beat em outright.

That would be a nice scenario for Detroit rzella, but do you really think a veteran leader like Farve is going to let his team look past any game this year?!?  Farve is aware of their record at detroit esp on turkey day.  Farve will come out and prove himself this year and the better team will win.  Kitna will turn the ball over and Farve will take advantage.  GB by 2 touchdowns!

I think the whole Thanksgiving Day scenario is a TAD bit over rated.  It is a football game, in a dome no matter what day they play this game.  Yea the Turkey gives the Detroit Lions special abilities that they don't have any other day of the year.  That being said, I am not saying Detroit can't cover, I'm just saying that if they do, it isn't because its a Thanksgiving day game!

UNDER friends. Detroit has can't score right now, all they got are those 3 wideouts and a hurt RB(everyone's gona guard the WR) and GB has a good secondary. All detroit is going to do is throw. No running game. UNDER is the play.

I love what the Packers have done this year.  Their Offense has a potent passing attack and their defense is fast and physical...a great combination.  I do believe they will go into Detroit and do enough to pull off a win.  But I also believe the Lions will show up and give the Packers just about all they can handle. I think we finally see a great early game this thanksgiving.

I don't see either team running the ball very well in this one. Both teams will play conservative defense especially vs the pass because of the explosive down field receivers on both teams.

In the end, I think this will be a great game but the Packers will make the plays they need down the stretch...continuing their magical run to the playoffs.

I hope people who read my post decide to go the other way.  If you have played against all my own personal opinion picks this year in the NFL, you would be in the doghouse with the dog and it would be in a cardboard box.

Sure we can keep this civilized, but I just can't help but laugh my @ss off that people still think that the Lions will be able to pull out the win on Green Bay.  Still non believers.  How in the living hell can you go against a team that has only lost 1 game SU & ATS?  Now I would consider it different if GB played against New England or Dallas this week, but they're not so it doesn't matter.

When a team treats you good in the spread, you have to continue to roll with them until they drop that game, if they do drop that game.  Case in point would be with New England and Kansas.

All that matters is the score at the end of that game.  I see people always talking about, that team almost should've won or almost lost.  Well, who cares, they didn't win or didn't lose and covered.  If you were on the right side of the ball you would've made money and isn't that why we are all here?

Not just looking at stats on paper, you can see the differences between this team and the Lions.  The Packers seem like a more inspired team to win games.  This could be Favre's last year and I'm pretty sure his team knows that.  You think they want to give up on him after how they have been doing this year?  Would you if you were playing on Green Bay?

The same can't be said for the Lion's o-line. They don't seem to be inspired enough to keep Kitna from getting sacked the most in the league.  He gets too much pressure and throws to many interceptions. 

Sure, it's funny that I forgot that the Lions have a dome.  Honestly I don't play the Lions ever that much, nor watch enough of their games to hardly remember.  They truly aren't good enough to deserve so much time. Just because I f*cked up on whether they play in dome or not doesn't ruin my street cred on the games I pick.

The fact remains that I'm still 6-1 on my picks on NFL when posting here on Covers the last couple of weeks.  Can you say that?  You know what's funny about that?  That I'm rolling my way to the bank while you sit there making crap picks.  It's truly evident if you can go back and read the threads I posted in.

So laugh, while I laugh at the amount of money I'll be winning this week, while also silently laughing at the fact you would go against Green Bay this week. 

BTW, historical stats doesn't mean crap this year.  This is not the same team as last year and any idiot can see that.  I don't think Favre will be sitting at the locker rooms prior to game time thinking that he hasn't won here as much as he probably would have liked.

ok xyberz, heres how this works.  gambling is an endurance race not a sprint.  so if you cover here dont act like you just popped your cherry and conversely, if i cover here i wont tell you im all that and a bag of chips.  i got 2 units here in 400 - 500 unit season, i think im on the right side here and i'll drop a dime if im wrong and win one if im right.  GLA

I really like all three favorites on Turkey day.....the spreads worry me a bit in the Dallas game
 
GB -2.5 first half....they are just the better team and they start fast!
 
Dallas -8 first half....Romo and TO are hitting their stride, I think the short rest actually helps them keep it rolling
 
Colts -7 first half....Atlanta is just TERRIBLE, the Colts are better offensively than Tampa even with injuries.  Just hand the ball to Adai.

I'm just surprised this line isn't higher... Green Bay just has been much more consistent than the Lions have, and remember when the Lions mustered 3 against the Redskins?? and 10 last week against an improving Giants D ??
Green Bay's S has been solid all year, good backfield, great corners, sideline to sideline linebackers, I don't see the Lions going anywhere with the ball tomorrow .
Buy the half point if your scared about a field goal victory, I got it at -120
 
But the thing the Lions have going now is a under the radar defense (kinda) that held the surging giants in check last week, so i guess that spells under this week. But i'm not sold on that, probably just stay away from the total.

on a serious note, there ARE some reasons to go against the Packers here...

first, they are not some unbeatable juggernaut... they are very good, but a lot of their wins have come against some pretty shoddy opponents... second, Detroit has played much better at home than on the road... just 2 weeks ago people were thinking they were practically unbeatable at home... when perception swings that far so quick you are usually wise to go against it...

finally, most importantly... i have been watching football a long long time... and one thing i know about Detroit... in the years when they have even a little bit of talent, they are historically almost unbeatable on Thanksgiving, and money in the bank as a home dog on Thanksgiving... lately, that hasn't shown because they have been worthless... but this year, they clearly are an above average team with a lot to play for... you can expect a top effort in this game... especially against their arch rivals...

and let's not forget, Favre has historically been much less impressive in Domes...

just giving you something to think about... haven't decided to take Detroit yet, but it is VERY tempting...
