The “funny” thing about all this Trump policy nonsense - is that a lot of what pushes inflation up - is the markets perception that inflation will go up in the future - every important market is trading on the future prospects ! So even if Trump got the fed to lower interest rates - the market would know it wouldn’t be good for your overall economy going forward - so the interest rate you pay on your debt would go up - not down in such a situation (because it uses future projecting numbers on inflation - and one of the most important things to keep that down is actually the market believing your institutions are independent)
