Polls show more Americans blame Trump directly for US inflation because of his tariffs and failed promise to lower prices. In contrast, less blame for Biden because of greater efforts to fight inflation due to Ukraine war plus pandemic impacts on supply, demand and government policies.
The inflation caused by tariffs etc. will also have longer term effects and feel worse than “normal” inflation - supply shock inflation raises prices without the company selling the products earning more money as a result of the raised prices - so unlike normal inflation your salary won’t be able to be raised to counteract the inflation - it is also one of the reasons why you are heading towards stagflation territory at warping speed

On Fox news, treasury secretary Bissent was ridiculed for suggesting high beef prices have nothing to do with Trump policies and everything to do with invasion of diseased cows at south border. No evidence of immigrants bringing cows into the US. Instead economists blame high prices on US cattle shortage, drought, tariffs and pasture degradation.

The last piece of official inflation data to land before the Federal Reserve’s policymaking meeting next week was a shutdown-delayed report that showed the pace of price hikes remained stubborn in September and consumer spending waned.

I always want to believe that people today are smarter, due to all the information we have at our fingertips, but truth is the internet has made people much dumber. You would think people would no longer fall for circus con artists like trump but they do in even larger numbers then in the past.

With no discernable end in sight to trump's inflationary tariffs, we have no reason to believe the issue will improve much if at all...
(Average grocery prices were indeed up roughly 1.4% in September compared to when Trump took office in January, and the 0.6% jump in one month from July to August was the largest in three years.)
Even among Republicans, only 2 in 10 subscribed to Trump’s alternate version of reality in which prices are actually dropping. A majority of republicans said prices are up.
The numbers were similar in a Fox News poll released last Thursday.
That poll showed 85% of registered voters said grocery prices are higher than a year ago, with 60% saying they’ve “increased a lot.”
Around two-thirds or more also said the prices of utilities, healthcare and housing were up significantly!
