NATO has close to no business in what happens in the Middle East (apart from not wanting Iran to have nuclear weapons - but until Trump was a thing we had an agreement with them - that Trump left and now he is bombing them because he want the exact same deal as before - Israel has said for the past 30 years that Iran would have nuclear bomb tomorrow - I guess he has the same time frame reference as when Trump 7 years ago said he would do something 14 days later still counting)  - Israel isn’t part of NATO - they are only important to you ! And EU has given more to Ukraine than US have most of it has just been humanitary related where yours is military spending - but Russia has literally threatened NATO countries with nuclear weapons - and you are a part of NATO and US have gotten plenty of both money and influence through NATO through the years so Russia-Ukraine war is almost as much your war as ours - it just takes part on our continent 

In the Gaza vs Israel conflict - most EU countries population side with Gaza - so much so that we have talked about banning Israel of competing in Eurovision (in case you don’t know what that is it is the world biggest song contest that they use for green washing all the shit they do - like “see Europe likes us”)

Huge blunder for stupid Trump to withdraw US from Iran nuclear deal the most significant peace agreement in previous decade. Without deal, he created potential problem of Iran enriching uranium.  Now the world is less safe because of war.  Oddly, delusional Trump believes that he deserves multiple Nobel peace prizes.

I don't think they ever actually abided by the terms.

I am sure he'll settle for just the one Pakistan nominated him for, but we'll see.

Iran nuclear program was heavily limited and inspected often before Trump abandoned Iran nuclear deal.  US intelligence assessed that Iran was complying with the deal.  European union confirmed the deal was working.  International atomic energy agency certified that Iran was abiding by the terms.

An obstacle to harmony is that forum guidelines outline both accepted and unaccepted conduct in the forum.

They are both specific and unambiguous.  They should also serve as the barometer for action absent interpretation.

Often "offenses" cited are not found in the guidelines.  From this own thread we see the word "condescending" which is not found in the guidelines.  When examined it means "having or showing a feeling of patronizing superiority."

Patronizing superiority is hugely up for interpretation.  For instance when someone addresses a point by opening with "wrong" or the response to THEMUGG's post.  Arguably very condescending......not a violation of the forum guidelines.

So when you move outside the letter of the law and allow for interpretation, an unintended consequence is bias.  Shortly after that comes "history" cause you're only processing (digesting is a better word) the ones that run counter-current to your beliefs.  All this leaves members both confused and frustrated with the experience.

Now do we occasionally step outside the posted guidelines, sure sometimes, and we move along or do the time.  But even in this post there are actual violations that go unaddressed.

 Notice something that is consistent in this thread and any other MOD thread, the players lean on the same tired retorts the rantings and ravings and threats the put downs and insults and complaints. The same players are doing this over and over and those same players (you especially and self admitted) are those who are offending at a much higher frequency than any other member set in this area and the forums in general.

This has been discussed many times that the politics forum is the worst most offending and combative area of the site outside of the penalty box and thus the way we/I moderate is different than any other area including the penalty box. This area exists to rid the site of this nonsense and Covers would rather not even have it since the topic of politics is not related to sports betting to any need of a forum but this isolates this crap from being posted anywhere including the General Discussion area. That said we put up with more from you guys and especially the offending group more than we should and the guidelines are for the site in general where in reality the guidelines for the Politics forum really should be much more rigid and definite because the topic is dividing and antagonistic.

Your group should appreciate and respect this opportunity to post and have a place to discuss politics because there is nothing that says the site has to allow it and if we really were applying the non-politics guidelines here you and many others would have been banned way long ago.

I'm conversing with Slim.  Reflecting on what occurred to get better and not have future threads derailed by stale banter.

First off all it is actually a big deal - as I said they use their invitation to the contest as propaganda in Israel - they actually had ads running in multiple countries to vote for them (while that not being allowed) + they tried to hack into the voting system - believe me it is a big deal - we are not talking “Americans got talent” here that none cares about ! Eurovision has run for 70 years and has more viewers than Super Bowl every single year

Not gonna work. The allies bombed the hell out of French cities in WW2 where the Germans were entrenched. Many French civilians died. Same thing here. If your a civilian you get away from the targets. Of course if the target has a gun to your head you have no choice.
