That's all good and dandy, but I look at it this way....if I use your line of thinking, if one truly believes this hurts or impacts legitimate citizens, it affects both the Democrats and Republicans equally so what is the harm? The law change is not specifically stating that only Democrats need to obtain voter identification, but rather for every citizen to obtain one, therefore it is fair and equally distributed amongst all citizens. It's not pinpointed to one demographic or group, which would raise eyebrows, but all across the board to all citizens....if you are interested in voting, then you must obtain whatever identification is required to do so just as it is for any other parts of life where you must show or prove identification....this should have always been a standard practice and it is customary to get every day life items or to live (e.g. a place to live, insurance, bank account, etc.). This stops no one from doing everyday basic life elements, but does bring a sense of control to Federal elections.....
I don't disagree that allowing people some time to get their affairs in order is reasonable, but it should not stop anyone from obtaining the required ID if you choose to vote....life is about choices and you either choose to follow the regulations or you do not....as a citizen you get to make that choice....as an illegal immigrant the choice is made for you....
If this was electronically mechanized then this would be a much simpler process...I mean the whole process....why elections are handled with paper in this day and age just blows my mind....electronic vote that can verify who you are through a database and counts the vote right away...elections results would be known right away.....jean e us...

The rollout is too fast the infrastructure is not there and the TNC feels that the most damage comes to the DEM side or they would not be pursuing this. When one side is ramming something through it is for a specific and precise reason.
IF and that is a big IF this were seriously about making things better it would be slowly and safely rolled out with MORE education and tools than anyone could ever need and it would be as easy as picking up a flyer for the upcoming school year or renewing my emissions which I have to do next month. The velocity to which this is being pushed tells me all I need to know. Were you aware of the way this is slighted against married women or were you just sold on the false narrative that elections are filled with fraud? I own a business so I have seen thousands, if not tens of thousands, of women changing their names either to their new married name or back to their maiden name over the many years employing individuals...this is not an issue and never has been...
And if your defense is that people change their name and don't go to Social Security, then therein lies the problem...they did not officially change their name then with all proper authorities and did not do as you are told to do as a US citizen....thats an entirely different problem, but because those people failed to properly officially change their name should not be a deterrent for them to do so when notifying Social Security is a requirement in those circumstances...thats a really really bad analogy to use as a defense...

You are proving my point so thanks for doing that even though you dont get that you are. You prove what I am saying that women are not FORCED to INTERACT with the SS for the reasons you stated, it is not required and few do it. With this they ARE FORCED to interact and that WILL for sure dissuade voters from jumping through those forced hoops to PROVE something they should NOT be forced to. This forces people to do things that will cause issues and is not necessary. Your example is a bad one, this is not a passive issue this is a forced no choice complicated situation. If you are serious about this massive voter fraud then this is NOT how you solve it, this will mean less people vote and those who want to are going to scramble to figure this out and MANY will not and just give up. I think that is the goal for the TNC..control the voter pool to only include those who follow the TNC narrative. At a bare minimum this should be rolled out over a ten year period but we both know this scheme is a voter suppression tool that Trump is pushing and next is the mail in vote, even though Trump himself the king of the feast did a mail in vote not long ago.

SAVE act is unnecessary because all states already have laws prohibiting illegal voting. However millions of Americans would lose the right to vote because they lack types of identification required under SAVE act. Undermining democracy, bad law is based on lies such as widespread voting fraud. But courts determine that voting suppression is a far greater problem than very rare fraud. Besides, US constitution dictates that only states regulate voter eligibility. Not the federal government.
