Diplomatic Action: Prime Minister Keir Starmer is organizing a 35-country summit to address the crisis, aiming to reopen the shipping route.Military Strategy: The UK has authorized the US to use British bases for strikes against Iranian capabilities threatening the strait.Naval Presence: The UK is considering deploying mine-clearance assets, including RFA Cardigan Bay with autonomous drones, to handle potential mining of the strait.Challenges: The strait, transporting roughly 20% of global oil, has seen traffic drop significantly, creating global economic pressure.Allied Cooperation: The UK seeks to avoid direct, wider conflict, aiming to balance maritime protection with diplomatic solutions, despite criticism from some quarters for not joining a more aggressive military coalition

Key Aspects of China's Military Presence (2026):Support for Iran: US intelligence indicates China is preparing to ship missiles and air defense systems to Iran, escalating its role in the conflict.Intelligence and Technology: Chinese firms with government ties have supplied AI-enhanced, tagged satellite images of U.S. military sites to Iranian forces, aiding in target identification.Key Military Assets: China operates a military base in Djibouti for anti-piracy and regional monitoring.Naval Presence: China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) conducts regular, albeit small-scale, port calls and maritime exercises (often with Russia and Iran) in the Gulf region.Strategic Approach: Beijing prefers using economic and technological pressure over direct military intervention, focusing on protecting its energy interests while challenging U.S. influence through "deniable" support to Iran.Critical Mineral Dependency: China holds a near-monopoly on processing materials like gallium, which is necessary for rebuilding U.S. missile defense systems depleted in the conflict.Naval and Infrastructure Footprint:Djibouti: Maintains a permanent base designed for humanitarian and security operations in the Horn of Africa/Arabian Peninsula.Port Activity: PLA vessels have docked in the UAE and Iran as part of expanded maritime cooperation in the region.

Polls show most Americans feel Iran war is going badly for the US. Also most of Trump's war objectives have not been achieved. Majority disapprove of his job performance. Oddly, the idiot orders US military blockade of Iran blockade of strait that he wants opened.

He is trying to limit the damage that is unfolding ! Ships that conduct business in Yuan or crypto are allowed to leave ! This is the beginning steps of the world getting detached of the dollar ! The ball is unfortunately already rolling and Trump can’t stop that - everything he does accelerates the speed it happens at ! It is no secret this change will be the final blow that throws your economy off a cliff
Don't mention the frogs - we don't want to scare the toddler - we want him to sleep

Possibly a pretty genius move. Block the straight and force everyone to come to the US for oil....or at least make China and Russia come to the table for humanitarian and energy purposes...if thats an end game, then that's a boss move and US benefits...

Who is everyone ? You do know that Europe and Asia is connected with the Middle East through land ? In a post apocalyptic world where you hold them at gun point with nukes - they could transport it by train for less than a day to get to a seaport you don’t control - or move it by train all the way - that would take less than a week to get from loading in Iran to unloading it in China - and Russia produces way more than they use

It is a problem because Iran wants it to be a problem - it would be like EU putting ships outside Mexicos shores - and thinking that would stop any possibility Mexican food could enter the US - if shit really hits the fan and you wanted Mexican food I am sure you would find a way

That's cute that you think mexican food comes in to the US from Mexico....
It is cute that you thought you could block the world access to Middle East resources by blocking a waterway - the Asian and European continent has shared land mass for millions of years- so you should think you had learned by now over there - and how should I know - I have never tasted real Mexican food - it is basically the only thing you fat people blabber about when you are overseas

Oil prices surged and stocks fell early Monday, hours before the U.S. military was expected to begin a blockade of Iranian parts of the Strait of Hormuz.
Mr. Trump announced the blockade on Sunday, adding to uncertainty around an already fragile truce between Iran and the United States. Marathon peace talks between top Iranian and American leaders in Pakistan over the weekend ended without a breakthrough.
Israel plans to sack city in Lebanon Iran demanding a 2 week cease fire ... time it takes for China to rearm the regime....
I'm still negotiating it's armada with world leadership

If oil price and cost of borrowing are high enough for months, economist Zandi of Moody analytics estimate 49% probability of US recession in the next 12 months.

It is crazy your military didn’t deny following orders when you went ballistic on Iran - because if your military institution is good at anything - it is wargames and intel — and a blind man that couldn’t point out Iran on a map would be able to tell you they would mine up the water in case of a conflict - and you have like 2-3 minesweepers - and Iran has produced drones for the 10+ years (an insane amount) - but none had figured out a substainable way to combat drones beforehand - so of course they attack your allies in the region - I think I know kids that could come to that conclusion beforehand — the same people that talked him out of the fiasco you would have had with Greenland - should have talked him out of this as well ! Because there was no kind of alternative timeline that would have taken you anywhere else but this point in the conflict

For years, US intelligence knew that Iran would probably close strait to disrupt oil traffic in war. Other presidents knew the risks but stupid Trump still choose war. Despite losing every military battle, Iran appears to become more powerful. Now the real issues are the shutdown of strait and higher oil prices. Not the potential risk of Iran developing a nuclear weapon. US blockade of Iranian ports is a risky strategy because economic sanctions usually do not work since Iran can adapt. Unlike Iran, US navy cannot stay in quagmire strait forever. There is no good military solution in a no win situation.

Monday that some progress was made during the first round of talks but emphasized that the next step is up to Iran.
"The big question from here on out is whether the Iranians will have enough flexibility, whether the Iranians will accept the critical things we need to see in order for things to get done," Vance said. "It's one thing for the Iranians to say that they're not going to have a nuclear weapon. It's another thing for us to put in place mechanisms to ensure that's not going to happen."
