@Raiders22 My reply is you put down his reference using the same logic that his reply did. Your bolded is the words in your reply that were bolded. I am agreeing 100% with third because we have proof and experience to the very conclusion he is making. There is no win-win there and especially in that country. Ive stated so many times over the years that Iran is the last country in that region you would want to go to war with. Iraq was a soft target they were harmless and not nearly as aggressive and militarily prepared as Iran is. Your reply makes assumptions based on non-valid and immaterial experience since we have absolutely no history of winning in that region. Iraq was not a win for the US and they were nothing like Iran. Winning does not mean you are NOT tucking tail like in Korea and Vietnam and Afghanistan, that is finalizing/ending a war and not admitting you lost. Iraq was a massive loss for the country and for the general population, it was based on lies and fraud so how can you win when you spin a war based on fraud? The US military is not a football team who is getting in reps and playing scrimmages, our military has not been tested for war since Vietnam, we rely on our weapons advantage and our spend AND our ex-allies to support us as a united front. Trump wrecked that aspect and it is fortunate we are not engaging in a land battle as it would cost hundreds of thousands of lives and trillions in spend and we would likely not win in that region. So what is your example of our experience that is pertinent to the region that refutes his contention that there is no win-win, I agree with him that this has no chance at winning let alone getting a return on our spend or the loss of life to the US and Iran.
