I JUST THINK THE WAY THE CARDS COME OUT OUT IS SICK.THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A COMPUTER IS DEALING THOUGH. OH AND MY FAVORITES THAT SEEM TO HAPPEN WAY TO OFFEN IS FLOPPING 4 OF A KINDS.CANT COMPLAIN CAUSE I'VE BEEN ON BOTH SIDES. NO HAND IS EVER SAFE UNTIL AFTER THE RIVER ON THAT SIGHT.WIN OR LOSE!

Losers always whine about doing their best...Winners go home and fuck the prom queen...
Excellent line here taken from Connery out of The Rock...
But I think it applies here...

If you are a consistent LOSER in gambling, whining abut it is all you have to lean on to console yourself to the fact you are NOT GOOD AT WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

Bad beats, statistical improbabilities and even CHEATING happens LIVE. You need to understand and recognize.

If there is cheating going on at PS or any other web site and its discovered, can you imagine the millions they would lose? PS spends HUGE bucks to keep the hackers out and police the MSN zombies...they want no part of it I imagine given what they stand to lose.

Its just another case of poor players looking for excuses that they suck...but hey, keep complaining...keep playing...just make sure ya do it at my table please...

Good point idiot.  Look at www.sharkscope.com , nobody wins at online poker, espically pokerstars.  Not stevesbets, thepabloshow, bcm11, alwaysnuts, or anyone else.

Just losing players looking for an excuse why they lost, rather than accepting the fact that MAYBE, JUST MAYBE they should try to learn the game more and get better.  Pathetic cry babies.  Why would a multi million/billion dollar website rig the games and risk losing not only all the profits going forward they are going to make, but get bankrupt paying off lawsuits???  Seriosuly think about that.  WHY RISK ANYTHING, WHEN THEY ARE GUARANTEED TO WIN.

I'm a complete poker newb, and am currently playing at .01/.02 NL table. Deposited 25 bucks a week ago and am up to like 38 bucks. It's not rigged, like others have mentioned it's poker, bad beats happen.

Keep in mind that these sites use card randomizers.. They are dealing tens of thousands hands an hour which increases the likley hood of seeing all sorts of crazy hands where statistically you may never see. It is not rigged.look for less busy sites to play on and you should notice a difference right away I did..Also as mentioned above by Bruno mabey some of it has to do with your approach to the game rather than the site being rigged.

As a computer engineer, I do not think it is rigged per se.  I do think the software is bad, plus any software can be broken, plus you have people with hand access playing, plus ghosting and multiaccounting.  The big games are not as much of a problem since they are less susceptible since stuff will get noticed more quickly.

More people lose since the effect of the rake is magnified with so many hands being dealt.  But that does not cover up the inherent problem of 3 friends playing 6 spots at the same table with one of them having the complete card access.

The software is a different problem.  Look here:

All sites say they have solved this problem, but how do you really know to trust a corporation in a small country involved in gambling?  If the argument that they make alot of money so why would they cheat doesn't cover incompetance or just not caring, besides of if the arguments was true Wall Street would be completely trustworthy also.

I really like this thread. A`couple of  thoughts.

    1) When I first started on line 6 years ago, I won all the time. Then my game loosened up and I was a consistent loser.

    2) I took some time off and gave the game some thought. I started winning again! Then the fall again occured.

3)More time off and more reflection followed by another site and more winning........but alas the cards go cold again.

    4) Now I am on my 4th site and winning again, so my point is ......can they rig the game to the newbies to hook em so to speak and take from the guys that have been there for some time or do the odds just even out. I really do not know but I will admit, I have been catching some sick good cards recently and have had some amazing suckouts......in my favor. Or, is it all just poker playing and probabilities? Really, no one knows and like so many things, THE ONES WHO REALLY DO ARE NOT TALKING!

    5) Finally, I am now on Bodog and am unbelievably upset with their payout system which has paid but been unbearably slow!

    Thanks for listening

No word of a lie, same stuff happens to me on that site. You could have an ace and a king and buddy calls with a 2 and a 3. Flop is ace king seven. You go all in and he goes all in and next thing you know running threes.

I started a Sit N Go a (3 dollar one) the other day, and it was going on forever and I had to leave. I was Heads Up and had just a few more chips then the other guy. So I went all in cause I had to leave, I had 2/7o and the other guy had pocket Kings. He calls and then the flop is K, 2, A. Then I hit runner runner 7, lol. It's not rigged, it just has some very odd card combos at times.

Yea I seem to always get a very bad beat in what seems like every tournament I play in but not the ring games. I think this is due to to fact that since pokerstars has the most traffic due to there large tournament formats you will run into more donks especially early in the tournaments.

The rings games on the other hand are quite rigid.

Play mostly ring games and if your a good player you will be allright.

And remember Poker Stars is one of the few sites that has an independent party checking the softwa

i'm writing in reference to your comment #4. you hit the nail on the head! that is exactly why and how these sites are rigged. old money is moved to new money. that simple. all the sites are rigged the same, some worst than others. nice to hear from someone who has observed and understood what they have seen.

He didn't know what you had but he knew what was coming.  Isn't that the only way to explain it?  It's hard to believe he would call with 6 2 but i guess his reasoning was that they were suited, lol.

I'm pretty sure online poker is rigged, some sites more than others. I think most of the money tables have a ringer. and some of the sit and go tables do. No sure about the tournaments I think it would no be worth thier time to plant a ringer into the small money poker tournaments.

Most of the funny activity I have seen has been on the money tables. It seems like the longer you have been a member of the site the more of a chance of you losing. its the same with black jack.

I do play the online poker tournaments to get practice , I would never play with a big bank roll online. I practise for when I'm about to go to vegas or atlantic city.

I figure a 2 dollar or five dollar tourney is worth my money to get practise. I have gotten alot better because of these online sites. I was also able to work on my game and I am better at deciding when to lay down and when to bluff.

Its better to play with serious money at a casino or a private game.

    Good Luck All.

If you play good poker, most of the beats you take will be bad ones.  This sets you up for recall bias (you remember the time AA doesnt hold up but you forget the times it does).  All online poker players go through the bouts with the doubts about is it legit.  what I did was to get my little chart out of percentages (you mean you dont have one?) I suggest googling poker stove and playing around with it to find out the odds, or watching WSOP on espn or WPT on GSN or TC and write down the little percentages they give you preflop on combinations (overcards, little pair vs bigger pair, suited, outer/inner [You have AT, he has KQ] and such).  make a spreadsheet or a piece of paper with the combos and the percentages where you can see them and a W column and a L column.  Put a tick mark in the column when the hand holds up or loses. Do this on every hand that you see the cards, not just the ones you play. after enough hands, you can get a good feel for if the numbers hold up or dont.  I do it every now and then to be sure that the site hasnt gone rogue.  I have never had any single hand combination come outside the statistical variance. feel free to sharkscope me at pokerstars   flatiron88  .  I play low buy in no limit tourneys (i like the 180 player 12+1 turbo, the 15+1 turbo one table).  In the 180 player I may only play 9%-13% of the hands (including my blinds) until it gets to the money.  I have a +ROI (return on investment, or how much money do I make on each dollar i invest in buy in) of 35% and that number has been steady for the last 8 months since i had time to start playing some more than usual. I have had an account there for over 5 years. I get my butt kicked at the ring games on a regular basis so I DONT PLAY RING GAMES ANYMORE.
Oh, and when i have played live (including $1500 buy in WSOP events) i have seen 22 beat AA with runner runner 22 on the turn and river for quads, as well as improbable flush hits with 4 suited cards on the board (of course 1 on turn and 1 on river) for 57o to hit the flush and break KK.  If you play enough hands you will see everything, and be on the wrong side of it many of them.

    To summarize:
    1.   if you think it might be rigged, do the homework and see.
    2.  look at your game and your statistics (they give you the ability to do this easily) winners rarely play (see the flop) more than 10% of the hands dealt to them before getting to the money where the tables become short handed.
    3.  read books on poker strategy, statistics, mindset and such and take time to digest it ALL, not just the parts you agree with.  I have a library of poker books including low limit poker (no fold em hold-em) up to advanced tournament strategy.  If it was easy, we'd all be rich from playing it.  Just like handicapping (which i assume some of us must do since that is what covers is about) it takes effort, time and patience.

more than my 2c worth, probably closer to $1.50.

Fuck Pokerstars and Full-Tilt poker. I am extremely conservative but have been rivered too many times. I used to do so much better on Party Poker but that is not an option so I will wait for Charlestown poker room to open up. I am done with online poker.
