This kind of thread cracks me up everytime.  Those of you who think it's rigged please answer these questions.

    1) If you're taking all these bad beats is it rigged against the player that's winning them from you too?

    2) There is a max rake in every pot, so what is the motivation for pokerstars to rig any part of the game?

The people who cry rigged are the same ones I make money off.  If you can't take a bad beat from obvious bad players then take your fucking panties off or play bridge.

i moved from full tilt to pokerstars cause it seems to be a little slower play so less idiots going all in preflop with 10 3 off and catching on my pocket pairs

you will get this at every site online poker...lower limit players are wild, loose and play everything....play some higher limit tourneys and see how they tighten up.  cash games are diff than tourneys, play a big nuy in tourney and see the idiots drop like flies on their all in suckouts

If it isn't rigged, something fishy is going on.

Yeah, it's called bad players playing bad cards and getting lucky.  As someone else already pointed out, there is a max rake on every hand so why would it be rigged?  Do all of you "online poker is rigged" guys wear tin foil hats to keep the aliens away as well?

if you take into consideration exactly how many hands are played each day on these online poker sites...u have to figure that these bad beats will eventually happen.

Online poker if FUCKED UP not so much rigged, for someone to win, as it is set up for action. I once read a article on a programmer for one of the sites, he wouldn't say which one but he went on to say "the sites are not rigged for a particular person to win but they are rigged for more action. The more action the more rake. Fuck online poker.

The more action the more rake....except again that there is a max rake on each hand.  Your argument makes no sense.

hasn't anyone here heard of absolute poker.  the programmer set up an account where he could see everyones hole cards.  this is a fact. this happened.  u dont think whoever programmed poker stars did the same?  if u play at a high enough level, you are getting cheated.

The more action the more rake, yes, up to a point after which no more rake is taken.

However, there is no rake in tournaments, only ring games. Tournament poker takes a fee along with the buy-in, but no rake during play.

I personally do not think it is rigged. You just have to be very lucky to win and you also have to be a decent player.

    I cashed in the last 3 of 6 tournaments I played with buy-ins of 27.50, 11, and 55.

If you feel that it is rigged then don't play.

I recently deleted Pokerstars off my computer.  Just one to many bad beats, statistical improbability, etc.  I don't know if it's rigged.  I actually use a simple formula to determine if Pokerstars or any other site is legitimate; when I win it's legitimate and when I lose it's rigged!  I have also won several six handed sit-n-goes and I once placed 70th in the Sunday Million and won $2,000 for that.  Which was pretty good since I got in on a $14 satellite.  Whether it's rigged or not, it seems to me it's virtually impossible to win since the UIGEA.  The UIGEA knocked out the casual players because it's harder to get money to the sites.  Tougher players lead to a lower win rate.  I'm not looking for tough games.  The recent cheating scandals at UB and AP have also given me pause about whether online poker is fair or not.  In addition to all of the above factors, it takes forever to get a check from a site these days.  Bodog, where I have played a lot, is taking two months to get players their money.  For now, I'm going to stick with live poker.  Even if online poker is not rigged, the odds are still stacked against you.
