64 pitches, 37 strikes, 27 balls, 3 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts. That’s only about a 58% strike rate, which is the biggest concern. Two walks in three innings plus 27 balls tells us the command is still not where we’d want it.

But the progression matters. Seattle got all 2 runs and all 3 hits in the first inning. Since then Lambert has thrown two consecutive scoreless innings without allowing another hit. So this isn’t a pitcher continuing to get hammered. He got punched immediately and then legitimately settled down.

The pitch count is the problem. 64 through three projects terribly for length. Houston should not be asking him for six innings tonight. If he can give them a reasonably clean fourth, maybe get into the fifth without creating a mess

couple more Houston runs right here would change the entire complexion of this fucking game.

Obviously, an insurance run wasn’t fucking happening there. At this point our weakest link is Lambert, and we really fucking need a zero right here. Hold this thing at 5-2 and get us one inning closer to that bullpen.

Lambert fucking survives again. 78 pitches through four.

After giving up 2 in the first, he has now put up three straight zeros. It hasn’t been pretty and the pitch count is cooked, but he did exactly what we needed 

Puts a man on early in each of last 3 inn and then closes strong.  Nice work by the pitcher.  Keep the bases clean.

If we’re gonna start contemplating the dream script, we need some fucking insurance right here. I’m not asking for much. Can we just scratch one fucking run across
