I get to use one of my favorite quotes of all time twice in 1 thread...............

"I'm going to rip out his heart and feed it to him. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat your children. Praise be to Allah."

sounds like you are not going to be welcome with these folks who do believe in fairies and goddesses and mermaids or mermaid-like creatures.  but you aren't ready for that kind of craziness.  you should stick with dead people coming back to life, all 2 million animals (times 2) riding out a storm in a boat, mass murders and other things that just make a lot more logical sense than silly fairies and mermaids.

The down side happens when you get before the Mermaid God and they say what they say, but as you live life today is it all for you or not?

    Lets try this.

Life on earth has meaning.  Your actions are judged everyday by those around you, no matter how you live good or bad, selfish or selfless.  Who you are and what you have done will be judged by those you influence in your life until you die.  The purpose and meaning of your life is not what you think BUT do.  History books are written about what people have done.  Hitler, Washington, Moses, Job, on and on, not what they thought but what they did.

Someone mentioned Job his story was summed up by his belief that God could do what he wanted and he had no influence on that reality give me stuff take it away, give me sons take them away that is God's work not mine, not because of what I do, but because you are God, and I accept that.  I am going to try to live the best I can everyday.

    Job respected God.

If Job dies and there is no God does his life have no purpose or meaning? Is he better off with this attitude or one of his wife and friends?

If Job is right and in the end God says well done my faithful servant is he better off or are his friends?  remember how God judged them?

Religion is basically useless.  A life of living out Biblical Christianity will help you live out the Bold text from above.  I do not know of anyone in history who could live that out without God's Grace.

Everyone needs to be careful now with what they say because this debate is starting to mix God and religion and those are two completely separate arguments.

    How does this work?

Atheists believe in the big bang theory...........

YET, the number one rule in science which is universally accepted is that SOMETHING CANNOT COME FROM NOTHING.....THAT IS UNIVERSALLY ACCEPTED in the scientific field.......

So how the earth can be created from nothing........Imagine if we are sitting in your living and we heard a massive bang and u say to me what was that, what caused that big loud bang and i say that was nothing...nothing happened..nothing caused it.......U would think i am mad.......

Scientitists want to claim the big bang theory but there own rules state that SOMETHING CANT COME FROM NOTHING.....

That is proof that the creation came from the spiritual world......nothing else.........

Just stop and think about it for a second............

Secondly the fine tuning of the world............for everything that is the universe today to support life today for it to just happen by chance (luck), do u know the odds of that?

Even this example would not do it justice,......

An NBA player hitting 5000 shots from one side of the court to the other in a row then going out and picking the winning lotto number 500 times in a row,.................That is the luck that needs to be involved if the earth was just created and gases, gravity etc etc to be assigned to there specific areas to support this life.....

Something cannot come from nothing, everything has a cause......In the physical sense this is the reasoning. So there is only one alternative where the world derived from, the spiritual sense - GOD...........

Why not believe and then kill yourself so you get to a better place, that is crazy because God made us in a way to want to live.

god made us in a way we want to live.  This is interesting. God also made me in a way I want to drink, sleep with women other than my wife, and sin in many other ways. Yet, in the name of God, I am to not do these things to honor him.  Why would I not also abandon my belief in my life to expediate the path and course to meet him in Heaven. I do not think this answers the basic premise that there is an inherent contradiction in Jesus based religions that we should treat out bodies here on this earth and not our souls and move them on to heaven. Really, the Christian scientists are probably the only sane Christians around.

Really, should we not be running to go? If it is so great and we truly and I mean truly believe, should we not be running to go? I would be eating fast food, never excercising, smoking and drinking as much as God would allow with prayer and tithing a full 10% each and everyday.  If I truly believed, I would overcome my God given wanting to live and getting running to go. Heck yea, WHO WOULD NOT?????

As far as your friend with the bladder cancer is concerned, I hope he made it, I really truly do.
