It was a staple for years but after finding out that If you purchase a bottle of cola with 44 grams of sugar, you divide 44 by 4.2 (which is what a gram of sugar equals) and it is equal to about 10 teaspoons of sugar that you are putting in your body. Food for thought!

I as a rule NEVER drink soda, even at my thirstiest.

I have opted for drinking water straight from the faucet in public restrooms (as long as it's not a gas station bathroom - who the hell knows what went on there). That's the low opinion I have of soda.

The brain almost cannot resist things like soda. The sugar concentration is unlike anything seen in human history.

Primitive man didn't have manufactured sugar and soda delivers it to us in heaping teaspoons per sip, as you referenced, and worst of all, in liquid form. It's a sugar IV.

I can honestly say that a lot of romanians eat at McD on a regular (maybe daily) basis. Our kids are fat, our national health is decreasing. But it tastes good, that's the excuse everyone, including myself, uses.

    Let me warn you.

    This food is 'processed.'

    Why is that bad?

You are altering the food from its original state to be packaged, frozen, reheated, and before all that literally disinfected in some cases.

That's all AFTER the preservatives and additives are put into the food to 1) last long, 2) taste good, 3) be prepared in the shortest amount of time.

Fast foods including McDonalds and Taco Bell, two of the worst offenders have:

The Highests amount of trans-fat (the worst type which lowers good cholesterol and raises bad cholesterol - an epic heart knocking double whammy)
The highest amount of saturated fat (very bad)
The highest amounts of sugars and sodium (do I need to say why those two are bad?)
Virtually no nutritional benefit other than caloric

You and others should not eat this 'stuff.'

It should not be called 'food.'

Shoe leather can be eaten. It is not food.

    Neither is this.

    Don't kill yourselves.

Anything more than once a month is really not acceptable IMO.

I literally cannot remember the last time I went to McDs. I think it was a few years ago. I got a sausage biscuit with egg. I started thinking about how much I paid for a biscuit, and egg, and a piece of sausage, and said never again............

Used to pound it back in college though. Closest place to college............

    Stop today.

The damage you are doing to your body will take years to reverse. First in physique and in less time, general health at your age.

Chick-FIl-A has many processed elements to a typical sandwhich and Chipotle as mentioned here is a calorie bomb which explodes in your stomach and then on your heart.

You have conditioned yourself to treat it as comfort food. You need to get accustomed to foods that are not 'fast.'

You will literally be battling your brain and body to get away from the stuff. The more you eat it now, the more you will lose that battle.

    You have one life.

The pleasure you get from fast food is not worth the damage to that life.

I eat almost zero pre-prepared food.  I can never find anything in the middle aisles at grocery stores because I never shop there.  If I'm out at a restaurant, I bypass the fries and get fruit or a salad about 2/3 of the time.

Nothing wrong with eating some crap now and again if you don't make it a habit.

Once a month is the max IMO.

But that's tough to stick to.

If you go to McD's, you usually won't pull into a drive-thru and say "Hmm, did I eat this within the last 30 days?" and pull out if you did.

That is why I advocate not eating it at all.

Doesn't mean it's not sour cream.  Sour cream isn't the easiest to spoon on a taco (soft or hard shell) without creating all sorts of problems (due its consistency).  It's just a tool that makes the easier.  It is called FAST food.

I'm not saying I even know what kind of sour cream they use.  But to just assume it's horrible because they use a spackle gun is prejudiced behavior if you ask me.

With your knowledge of the sour cream spackle, it sounds like you've served America this crap before.

    Gross...

The 'fish' sandwhich at McDonald's is one of the all time worst McFrankenfood creations.

I would be afraid to give that to a dog.

And that 'tarter sauce' they put on it?

You probably could hang wallpaper with it.

Had a Deluxe Quarter Pounder last week and thought it was a good sandwich.  First thing I noticed was that the bun was higher quality and better tasting.  Lettuce, tomato, pickles and red onion were good.  I would buy it again.  Not something I would have every day or week, but I will buy it again.
