1st off, if your doing time in the Feds, B.O.P can ship you anywhere in the USA.
2nd, you want to be sentenced to a low - min security penitentiary. If that's the case you'll be fine, you'll have a lot more freedom to move around. majority of inmates are going home so no one will rock the boat.
3rd, don't gamble inside because the last thing you want is someone from your family interacting with the bookie and his henchmen on the outside. you're just asking to do hard time. imagine the bookie might make a move on your wife because of an unpaid debt, plus we all know no wife will stay faithful.
4th, no matter how hard your doing time, your family is doing time as well. it's not easy for them grinding away while they are trying to pay bills. you have it easy for 79months doing jack shit not having to worry about anything. so when you have arguments with the wife, you need to check yourself and give her a lot of slack.
keep hope alive...one day you'll be back outside

What might have mattered is what kind of lawyers you had. Any way, ask them if after a certain time, you can ask the judge for a modifacation of setence, and if the answer is yes. Then thats why it's important to keep your record clean. Anyway buddy, the diff between a fed time and penitentary is night and day. Fed time is camp compaired to hard time. Which is not to say it is gonna be a picnic..

Id like to keep on cracking but I do feel bad solely for the reason you have a child...child is young enough to where you will still have plenty of time once you get out... main focus should be to stay neutral and avoid any major writeups... if u can get out 15% faster ... then do it

Obviously with a young son he can't go on the lamb.
You did fuck up pretty badly and do deserve time behind bars, but try to make it as productive as possible. Come out with some marketable skills if possible and a degree if you can. Most importantly don't get sucked into an ongoing life on crime.
