The narrowly-favored BC Lions will play the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday night in their first home game of the season at the Apple Bowl in Kelowna, BC, while BC Place in Vancouver is being used for the World Cup.

The Lions are a team built to take advantage of their usual dome stadium home-field advantage, but they will have to overcome the elements (the Apple Bowl uses a natural grass field) as well as their injuries to keep pace with the Stampeders.

My Stampeders vs. Lions predictions and CFL picks for June 27 are calling for Calgary to come away with a road win.

Who will win Stampeders vs Lions: Calgary (-110)

The BC Lions are badly beat up at offensive line, and their top receivers have been hobbled so far in 2026, with all of Keon Hatcher, Justin McInnis, Jevon Cottoy, and Stanley Berryhill battling injuries.

Hatcher and McInnis are expected to play, but may have diminished capacity.

The Calgary Stampeders, on the other hand, have come through their first two games relatively unscathed. They are set to take advantage of a BC secondary featuring two rookie corners that has been shredded for 351 passing yards per game and 13 yards per attempt this season

BC will struggle to keep pace with Calgary in this one. I'm happy to back the Stamps at coin-flip CFL odds.

Stampeders vs Lions best bet: Over 56.5 (-115)

The 2026 season has seen an increase of 5% total offensive plays run per game due to the changes in timing rules.

In their two games so far in 2026, the Stampeders have averaged totals of 67.5 points, while the Lions have averaged totals of 63 points.

These teams won’t require a dome to have another high-scoring affair Over 56.5 points.

I’d play the Over up to 58.5 (-115).

Covers COVERS INTEL: Calgary averaged the second-most yards per pass attempt in the CFL in 2025 at 9.45 YPA.

Stampeders vs Lions same-game parlay

Combining the high-scoring history of the Calgary Stampeders and BC Lions series from 2025 along with the well-known struggles of the 2026 Lions defensive secondary will pay a solid +250 in an SGP.

Playing outdoors in Kelowna isn’t as optimal for scoring as BC Place usually is for Lions’ home games, but given all of the high-scoring affairs in the CFL in 2026 have been outdoor games, the change of venue doesn’t concern me.

From an early age, Ben had a strong desire to mix his love of sports and making money. His first taste of the action came around age eight while helping his dad try to win his office NHL auction draft. By the time he was in high school, he was running a profitable weekly NFL pool while taking bets from both staff and students at his school. His awards in vocal jazz and competitive physics exams gave him numerous career paths to pursue following high school, so the obvious choices were degrees in philosophy and New Testament theology at Briercrest College and Seminary.

His big opportunity to step into the sports content provider world opened up when DraftKings began offering CFL contests in 2016 and he was the only person in the world who knew what both DFS and the CFL were. He quickly made his way from posting in the forums on DailyRoto.com to writing weekly articles, and shortly thereafter, becoming the provider of statistical projections and fantasy/gaming content on the CFL league website, with weekly shows on the Sportsnet radio network. He spent three years creating CFL and CFB prop projections at Unabated.com and he currently publishes CFL fantasy and props projections on his Substack, Onside CFL Fantasy & Props.

Ben helped many families pay for vacations through betting CFL player props, and spends his days stalking the CFL prop offerings on bet365.
