From an early age, Ben had a strong desire to mix his love of sports and making money. His first taste of the action came around age eight while helping his dad try to win his office NHL auction draft. By the time he was in high school, he was running a profitable weekly NFL pool while taking bets from both staff and students at his school. His awards in vocal jazz and competitive physics exams gave him numerous career paths to pursue following high school, so the obvious choices were degrees in philosophy and New Testament theology at Briercrest College and Seminary.
His big opportunity to step into the sports content provider world opened up when DraftKings began offering CFL contests in 2016 and he was the only person in the world who knew what both DFS and the CFL were. He quickly made his way from posting in the forums on DailyRoto.com to writing weekly articles, and shortly thereafter, becoming the provider of statistical projections and fantasy/gaming content on the CFL league website, with weekly shows on the Sportsnet radio network. He spent three years creating CFL and CFB prop projections at Unabated.com and he currently publishes CFL fantasy and props projections on his Substack, Onside CFL Fantasy & Props.
Ben helped many families pay for vacations through betting CFL player props, and spends his days stalking the CFL prop offerings on bet365.
