Can Ottawa’s rookie QB sting Hamilton again after ending a record 22-game losing streak?

The Ottawa Redblacks make the short trip to visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. ET (TSN) at Hamilton Stadium. Although there are no playoff implications in this Week 21 matchup, the Redblacks finally snapped their record 22-game losing streak last week.

The Tiger-Cats are 4.5-point favorites (-230 on the moneyline), but my Redblacks vs. Tiger-Cats predictions remain a bit more optimistic for Ottawa, especially against an opponent that has struggled similarly down the stretch.

While you won’t find either team on the Grey Cup leaderboard in the Grey Cup odds, here are my CFL picks for this final-week matchup.

Who will win Redblacks vs Tiger-Cats: Redblacks (+190)

Despite attempting just eight passes this season before his first start last week, Redblacks QB Bryson Barnes exploded for 401 total yards, two touchdowns, and a 119.1 rating against the Toronto Argonauts.

The Tiger-Cats enter this matchup in a similar position as the Redblacks, having won just two of their last 10 games and once since Aug. 15. That lone win was against Ottawa three weeks ago, but Barnes & Co. did just put up a season-high 40 points against the 9-8 Argos.

That win allowed the Redblacks to pass the Tiger-Cats in total points, leaving Hamilton ranking dead last. Good chance this one is another shootout, and +190 for a nothing-to-lose squad that finally secured a win is too valuable to pass up.

Redblacks vs Tiger-Cats total prediction: Over 58.5 (-108)

Ottawa is 9-8-0 and Hamilton is 8-9-0 against the total, a combined 17-17-0 Over/Under record this season.

However, both have played to the Over in three of their last five games. Hamilton has allowed 37+ points in three of those five, while Ottawa has given up 34+ in each of their last five.

Barnes flashed his offensive potential in an instant classic last week, and these are two of the bottom-three teams in the CFL in terms of points allowed.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Hamilton ranks last in total yards (333.4) and passing yards (256.6) per game, while Ottawa’s 56.3 rushing yards per game is also league-worst.

Redblacks vs Tiger-Cats same-game parlay

The Redblacks are coming off a drought-ending victory over the No. 2 team in the East, and are looking to finish the season on a high note after a 2026 season that has produced just one win.

Both of these teams sport bottom-three defenses by points allowed. Their average points allowed per game combine for 67 points, and both have played to the Over in three of their last five.
