Chad Kelly and the Toronto Argonauts' offence have been firing on all cylinders out of the gate, and we expect them to get the best of Calgary on Thursday night.

The Calgary Stampeders return home from Kelowna as -122 favorites against the visiting Toronto Argonauts, who are off to a surprising 2-1 start in the CFL odds.

This game will pit the league’s two highest-scoring offences against each other, and I expect Chad Kelly to lead the Argos to a road victory at McMahon Stadium.

Who will win Argonauts vs Roughriders: Argonauts (+105)

Offensive plays per game in the CFL continue to be up about 5% over previous seasons due to the new time clock rules for 2026, and the Toronto Argonauts offence leads the league with 38 points per game. Quarterback Chad Kelly spearheads all quarterbacks with an average of 396 passing yards per game at a torrid pace of 11 yards per pass attempt, and a total of nine passing touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Vernon Adams Jr. and the Calgary Stampeders have been off to a more sluggish start in 2026, with his YPA down almost a full yard from last season’s rate.

Toronto’s rush defence has been much improved this year, allowing just 4.21 yards per carry, and I expect them to be able to outscore the Stampeders in what should be another high-paced affair.

Playable to +100.

Argonauts vs Stampeders total prediction: Over 60.5 (-110)

Both teams are averaging 69.7 combined points per game through three contests, evidence that the new 35-second play clock is outpacing defenses faster than sportsbooks can price it.

This should result in another Over with the line sitting at just 60.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Toronto and Calgary have gone 6-for-6 on the Over — new play-clock rules are inflating pace faster than books can adjust, and Calgary's Over margin (17.8) is even steeper than Toronto's (14.7).

Argonauts vs Stampeders same-game parlay

The Argonauts' offence is just too difficult to hold in check with their increased ability to run in 2026 — up a full 1.4 YPC compared to 2025 — and the deep strike ability that former MOP Chad Kelly has brought back to the passing attack.

From an early age, Ben had a strong desire to mix his love of sports and making money. His first taste of the action came around age eight while helping his dad try to win his office NHL auction draft. By the time he was in high school, he was running a profitable weekly NFL pool while taking bets from both staff and students at his school. His awards in vocal jazz and competitive physics exams gave him numerous career paths to pursue following high school, so the obvious choices were degrees in philosophy and New Testament theology at Briercrest College and Seminary.

His big opportunity to step into the sports content provider world opened up when DraftKings began offering CFL contests in 2016 and he was the only person in the world who knew what both DFS and the CFL were. He quickly made his way from posting in the forums on DailyRoto.com to writing weekly articles, and shortly thereafter, becoming the provider of statistical projections and fantasy/gaming content on the CFL league website, with weekly shows on the Sportsnet radio network. He spent three years creating CFL and CFB prop projections at Unabated.com and he currently publishes CFL fantasy and props projections on his Substack, Onside CFL Fantasy & Props.
