The Calgary Stampeders will host the Montreal Alouettes on the back end of the home-and-home series as +1.5-point home underdogs on Saturday afternoon at McMahon Stadium.
The final score of 37-30 for the Als in Montreal on Sunday night somewhat flatters the Stampeders, as the game was never quite as close as the scoreboard makes it appear.
My Alouettes vs Stampeders predictions and CFL picks make the case for another fast-paced and high-scoring matchup.
Who will win Argonauts vs Roughriders: Montreal -1.5 (-112)
In my early lean on Monday, I mused that I had expected lines to open for this game around the Montreal Alouettes -1.5 over the Calgary Stampeders but was treated to a value with Montreal +1.5 to start the week.
As predicted, the line quickly moved to Montreal -1.5, and I think there’s room for it to move more yet closer to Montreal -2.5 before the game kicks off on Saturday afternoon.
Star players drive scoring in the CFL as the wide field gives them room to excel, and the Montreal offense just has more stars to drive scoring at this point in the season.
Montreal runs a defined two-man passing core with the top two receivers in my player projections this week carrying 59.7% of team receiving yards (Philpot 30.8%/Snead 28.9%).
The Calgary offense tries to counter with a committee, but with Malik Henry gone to knee injuries and Reggie Begelton still recovering from his, they have no receiver above 21.6% of their passing attack with five between 14.7% and 21.6%.
Without a go-to player on offense, Calgary will again fall behind the high-flying Alouettes, especially if receivers Erik Brooks and Tevin Jones are limited due to illness that cost them practice time this week.
Players that are already feeling unwell may well wilt altogether in the intense heat expected for game time.
Despite three points in line movement, I still like Montreal -1.5 and would take them all the way up to -2.5 without much hesitation.

Alouettes vs Stampeders total prediction: Over 63.5 (-110)
The Als and Stamps are averaging an astounding 72.8 combined points per game this season (Montreal 34/Calgary 38.8) as two of the three highest scoring teams in the CFL this season.
My model projects the two teams for a combined 861.1 yards of total offense, and when I see outputs like that, it definitely pushes me towards the Over on this game even at a current line of 63.5.
Calgary receivers Erik Brooks and Tevin Jones potential limitations this week aren’t ideal for the Stampeders team total, but the Calgary offense already relies on spreading the ball around to multiple players, so the issue isn’t as acute for them as it would be for Montreal if they were to lose Tyson Philpot or Tyler Snead.
The Alouettes, on the other hand, expect receiver Cole Spieker to return to the starting lineup this week after missing the past month due to injury, so that should also be a boost for scoring.
I’d be comfortable playing this line all the way up to 64.5.
Alouettes vs Stampeders same-game parlay
Montreal is a healthy team, and their 6-3 road record in 2025 shows they aren’t fazed by travel.
There’s solid correlation here between the narrow spread and a high-scoring game script, and the SGP here is built on that thesis.
Alouettes vs Stampeders SGP
- Montreal -1.5
- Over 63.5
Alouettes vs Stampeders weather
The forecast for Saturday afternoon in Calgary is for hot temperatures around 30C with low winds from 15-25kph and clear skies. The heat may prompt offenses to rotate skill-position players more than usual to avoid exhaustion, so their usage may be a little more limited.
