Although the Montreal Alouettes have dropped two of their last three games, a Friday night matchup against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats should offer some respite in Week 16.

With Montreal listed as 5.5-point favorites, my Alouettes vs. Tiger-Cats predictions expect the East Division's top seed to get back on track, led by another strong offensive performance from quarterback Davis Alexander.

Read more in my CFL picks for Friday, Sept. 18, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET from Hamilton Stadium and the game airing on TSN.

Who will win Alouettes vs Tiger-Cats: Alouettes -5.5 (-110)

With Bo Levi Mitchell on the IL, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have lost six of their last seven matchups, with four of those defeats coming by double digits.

Now facing a Montreal Alouettes offence that is producing a league-best 35.5 points per game, the Ticats' D could be in for a long night.

Hamilton's secondary is surrendering a 70% completion rate, while its defence has recorded just 19 sacks this season, second-fewest in the CFL behind only Ottawa. That's a nightmare matchup against Davis Alexander, who is running away with MOP consideration and leads all qualified starters with a 120.3 passer rating.

With Ticats third-string QB Harrison Frost getting the start and rookie Brayden Szeman making his first career appearance at centre, expect Montreal to bounce back in Week 16 with a road cover.

Playable to -6.5 in the CFL odds.

Alouettes vs Tiger-Cats total prediction: Over 60.5 (-110)

Montreal is an incredible 11-2 to the full-game Over in 2026, spearheaded not only by Alexander but also by a receiving corps featuring Tyson Philpot and Tyler Snead, who rank first and second, respectively, in CFL receiving yards.

Although Frost has attempted fewer than 100 passes this season, the Ticats' offence should be able to do its part with a pass-heavy game script to help eclipse this total, especially with the Als down three starting defensive backs, including former All-Stars Wesley Sutton and Kabion Ento.

I would take the Over to 61.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Montreal is 7-2-1 ATS over its last 10 games against Hamilton, including three straight covers.

Alouettes vs Tiger-Cats same-game parlay

Montreal loves to be aggressive with its play-calling, with Alexander boasting a CFL-best 31 completions of 30+ yards this season.

Only BC's Nathan Rourke averages more yards per attempt than Alexander, and the Als will turn this into a track meet that the Ticats won't be able to handle.
