As the WNBA Commissioner's Cup continues, the Chicago Sky finally found themselves back in the win column after defeating the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. They're back at home and the vibes are good as the Washington Mystics are looking for a bounce-back win on the road.

Let's take a look at why I see Chicago gaining momentum in my Mystics vs. Sky predictions, which could hand Washington their second loss in a row tonight, in my WNBA picks for Tuesday, June 17.

Mystics vs Sky predictions

My Mystics vs Sky best bet: Sky +4.5 (-105 at BetMGM)

When you take a look at the Washington Mystics (4-7) and the Chicago Sky (3-7) so far this season, they're pretty much in a similar boat. Both teams have struggled to find their stride, and although it's still early, the Sky have the advantage in this one. Besides the fact that they'll be at home, Chicago finally got out of their own way and got a much-needed win earlier in the week, and sure, it may have been against a lowly Connecticut Sun team, but hey, a win is a win.

The matchup was not only significant for the Sky as a whole, but Angel Reese tapped into a whole new level by earning her first-career triple-double in the WNBA. History was made with her 11 points, 13 rebounds, and a career-high of 11 assists stat line on Sunday, with Reese becoming the second-youngest WNBA player to record a triple-double. Coming off of a contest like that will surely light a fire under Reese & Co. to keep the wins coming in, and that's where the Mystics may find themselves hitting another wall.

The Washington Mystics are at a low point after being hit with a 33-point loss to the Atlanta Dream. The Mystics didn't look close to competitive in Sunday's matchup and are likely coming out to Chicago with a new wave of energy to reset the tone. However, that won't be enough to stave off the Sky, who are currently riding a higher level of energy. After losing seven of their last nine games and coming off a night where they shot a 29.5 percent from the field, the Mystics will be caught in a weak spot by the Sky, who will be able to keep this matchup close enough to cover.

Mystics vs Sky same-game parlay (SGP)

Sky +4.5

Angel Reese 10+ rebounds

Brittney Sykes 18+ points

We've talked about how this matchup will be within reach for both teams to secure the win, but ultimately, the Chicago Sky will come out on top to go for their second win in a row, all while Angel Reese does her thing once again, of course. The Windy City star is in a "will to win" mode, and her rebounds prop will always pop, especially against a Washington Mystics team that currently sits second-worst in the league in rebounding with 32.0 boards per game. No better team than this for Reese to get greedy.

On the other hand, Brittney Sykes had a dud of a game on Sunday when facing the Dream after dropping a mere nine points on 2-for-10 shooting. Sykes will go back to the drawing board and get her team to stay within striking distance with a performance to make up for what was shown in the Mystics' last contest. Take the Over on her points prop.
