WNBA Commissioner's Cup explained

The Commissioner's Cup consists of 36 games — a full round-robin for each team to play within their respective conference — before the top two teams face off in the Commissioner's Cup Final.

For each Commissioner's Cup game from June 1-17, winning teams earned a monetary donation of $3,000 for their chosen local organization, while losing teams earned $1,000 for their selected organization. An additional $10,000 donation will be made to the non-profit organization aligned with the winner of the Final, with $5,000 donated to the organization of the runner-up.

The two teams in the Cup final also play for a $500,000 bonus, including $5,000 for each player, along with the Commissioner's Cup trophy.

Understanding WNBA Commissioner's Cup odds

Sportsbooks will post odds for the WNBA Commissioner's Cup shortly before the regular season begins. These odds are adjusted throughout the season as players switch teams, show steady improvement, or are injured. Sportsbooks will also adjust the WNBA odds based on handle and liability to certain teams.

WNBA Commissioner's Cup odds will usually look like this:

  • Indiana Fever +150

This means that on a $100 bet, you'll stand to win $150 if the Fever win the Commissioner's Cup. If it's close to the end of the tournament and the WNBA has a particularly dominant team, you might see a minus sign (-) ahead of its odds.

  • Minnesota Lynx -185

This means you have to bet $185 to win $100 on a Lynx Commissioner's Cup win.

Above we have listed the American odds. However, these are easy to convert to decimal odds or fractional odds with our odds converter tool. And don't forget to check out our WNBA forum if you're interested in chatting with other basketball bettors about WNBA odds.
