Tonight’s WNBA schedule features a contrast in fortunes when the Indiana Fever face the Toronto Tempo.
Red-hot Indiana is surging up the standings, while Toronto lugs a 10-game losing skid into tonight.
Toronto’s injury-depleted roster and Charmin-soft interior have Indiana as a 10.5-point favorite north of the border. That's also why my Fever vs. Tempo predictions like center Aliyah Boston to pack the box score.
My best WNBA picks back Boston to beat up Toronto inside on Aug. 18.
Fever vs Tempo prediction
Fever vs Tempo best bet: Aliyah Boston double-double (+130)
Aliyah Boston goes back for seconds after dropping 18 points and 11 rebounds on the Toronto Tempo back in June.
This time around, the Indiana Fever center finds Toronto in worse shape.
The Tempo’s frontcourt continues to be a M.A.S.H. unit, missing bigs Maria Conde and Nyara Sabally. That lack of size is being exposed, getting bullied for 10 offensive rebounds and 14.3 second-chance points during this skid.
Boston is a handful when she’s not getting extra looks at the rim, averaging 17.4 points and 10.8 boards in her last five games. Projections call for a similar output tonight.

Fever vs Tempo same-game parlay
While my player prop picks are Fever positive, I do see Indiana in a tough situational spot tonight. The Fever are coming off a thrilling win in OT and have played three straight contests against top-tier rivals in Atlanta, Dallas, and New York.
The Tempo are back in Canada for the first time this month with a packed house at the larger Scotiabank Arena welcoming them home.
Toronto’s losing skid is rough, but it’s featured quality opponents and the Tempo have covered in three of the last four showings.

Fever vs Tempo player prop pick
Caitlin Clark Over 9.5 assists (-150)
Caitlin Clark has upped her playmaking during the Fever’s mid-season push, handing out 10 or more assists in five of her last seven games.
The Clark-Boston powered pick-and-roll attack will be especially potent against the Tempo’s undersized lineup, as Clark draws double teams and the 6-foot-5 Boston exploits smaller defenders on switches and weakside rotations.
Toronto’s defensive shortcomings have seen opponent assists spike during its losing streak, with foes racking up a WNBA-high 24 dimes per game versus the Tempo.
Clark record 14 assists in the first meeting with the expansion team and tonight’s forecasts flirt with double-digit dimes again.

Fever vs Tempo trend
Toronto is the best Over bet in the WNBA but that record stems from a 13-3 O/U count away from the Big Smoke. At home, the Tempo are just 6-9 O/U. Find more WNBA betting trends.
