Hall vs Weidman betting preview

These fighters met all the way back at Ring of Combat in 2010, with Weidman getting the first-round stoppage win. That was the first career loss for Uriah "Prime Time" Hall but he's now on a three-fight winning streak and is the No. 9-ranked middleweight contender.

The 36-year-old is dangerous with both his punches and kicks and has explosive knockout power. Hall is fresh off a TKO victory over a painfully over-the-hill Anderson Silva last October.

Ironically "The All-American" Weidman first came to prominence by knocking out a showboating Silva in 2013, ending his seven-year reign atop the division.

Weidman would successfully defend the title three times, including a rematch against Silva where he broke the former champ's leg by checking a low kick, as well as a first-round finish of Vitor Belfort. Since then, Weidman has hit a rough patch, going 2-5 in his last seven fights with each loss coming by way of knockout.

He is, however, coming off a decision win against Omari Akhmedov and is No. 11 in the middleweight rankings. A former NCAA Division I All-American, Weidman is a pressure fighter with excellent wrestling ability.

Hall vs Weidman UFC prediction and betting pick

PREDICTION: Uriah Hall by KO/TKO (+210) - This result will come down to which fighter can impose their style, so you may as well consider the method to win prop over the moneyline on either one.

Weidman has never been the most explosive athlete but he looked especially slow and plodding on his feet in his last fight against Akhmedov.

Hall, meanwhile, can be a bit tentative at times, preferring to stay at range. But Weidman will look to close the gap which will put him right in the crosshairs of Hall's counter striking and fast hands and feet.

Weidman's striking defense and chin are very suspect after getting knocked out in each of his last five defeats. With seven of Hall's last nine wins coming by way of KO/TKO, expect Prime Time to end this fight within the distance.
