Jacksonville State has found its footing with back-to-back wins, and Caden Creel gives the Gamecocks the better quarterback in this matchup. He’s the only FBS QB with 1,100+ passing yards and 300+ rushing yards this season. I like the Under on New Mexico State's team total at 20.5 or better. The Aggies have scored more than 21.5 points in two of their five games, and those two came against an FCS program and a Western Kentucky defense ranked 130th by SP+. FIU has one of the best defenses in the G6, ranked 59th by SP+ and eighth in available yards percentage (33.4%).

Don’t let South Florida’s top-10 scoring defense fool you, as the Bulls have faced a soft schedule. This matchup should be a wake-up call against a Roadrunners offense that can attack on the ground. I'd play the Over on Florida State's team total at 27.5 or better. The Seminoles are averaging 33.2 PPG and have gone Over 27.5 in four of five games. Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer ranks just No. 68 in QBR and has eight turnover-worthy plays this season (12th most nationally). I don’t expect him to suddenly play clean football against a Texas defense that ranks No. 16 in Havoc.

Finally, I don’t hold Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian in as high regard as most. However, I think he's far superior to Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables. This has played out on the field, with Texas winning 23-6, 34-3, and 49-0 in three of the four meetings between the two coaches.

Dylan Raiola is the best backup quarterback in the country. He was a solid starter at Nebraska for two years. Two weeks ago, he came off the bench after Moore's injury and led Oregon to a 41-27 win at USC. It was a high-pressure game the Ducks desperately needed, and Raiola had a 98.8 QBR!

While it has been a great start for UCLA and new head coach Bob Chesney, the Bruins have not played a team currently in the Top 60 of my power ratings. Most of their opponents are way down this year, including California, San Diego State, and Maryland. That's inflating their metrics.

UCLA has all the makings of a team that can win this game outright. Yes, Dylan Raiola filled Dante Moore's shoes nicely against USC, but UCLA's defense will provide much more resistance, ranking 15th in opponent yards per play compared to USC's 87th. On the other side of the ball, UCLA leads the nation in yards per carry and sits fourth in yards per play. Take the points.

I love the spot for Boise State. It's a revenge spot as they were favored by double digits and lost outright to Fresno State last season in a game where they lost their starting QB. I think this is a rare conference game that they have circled on their calander. I like the price as well, which I made seven. I'm not overly impressed by Fresno State so far this season.

How to Use NCAAF Computer Picks

As human beings, we're bound to be biased with our picks and potentially fall into the trap of swinging with the public. With advanced stats growing in popularity and getting harder to track, college football computer predictions are starting to become more relied on.

Moneyline

Betting on a moneyline simply means you're picking the outright winner of the game, regardless of the scoring margin or total. If the team you choose wins, then your bet hits. Here's what it will look like over at your favorite sportsbook:

In this case, Alabama is favored to win the game as its moneyline odds have a minus sign (-) in front of the number. The favorites will have the minus sign present, and the underdogs will have a plus sign (+). Easy, right?

Spread

Betting the spread gives your bet a bit more breathing room. Here, you don't need to sweat out a team to win. Instead, you can wager on the point differential on the scoreboard.

Betting on the spread is a good idea when the moneyline profits aren't enticing. There's no point betting on Alabama as a heavy -1500 favorite over Missouri. But taking Missouri to keep the scoring margin within a certain frame will get you more bang for your buck.

In this example, the Tide are favored to dominate their game against Missouri, outperforming them by at least 24.5 points.

If Alabama does win by more than 25 points, that would mean the Crimson Tide covered the spread. But if the Tide won by just 20 points, then that would mean the Tigers "covered the spread" instead.

Totals

If you think the outcome of a game could flip in either direction, then an Over/Under is the way to go. This bet relies on the combined score from both teams and whether it goes Over or Under the point total listed at sportsbooks. Then, who cares who wins?

In this example, oddsmakers have set the total score for the game at 52.5 points. The choice is now up to you. If you think the Tide and Tigers will score a combined total of more than 52.5 points, 53 points or more, then pick the Over. If you're thinking otherwise, then bet the Under, and the bet will hit if they score fewer than 52.5 points.

If the set number was a whole number like 52 points and the two teams score exactly that amount, then it is considered a push and you'd get your money back.
