Junior Caminero has the contact profile to leave the yard, with two homers, a .304 ISO, a 58.8% hard-hit rate, and a 17.6% barrel rate over his last six games. Pérez’s hard-contact issues and Atlanta’s homer-prone bullpen give him multiple paths.

The Over 8.5 is mostly about bullpen volatility. Atlanta’s relief corps has been vulnerable to homers, and Tampa Bay’s pen has been even shakier by xERA. Even with Atlanta’s offense cold, both teams have enough late-game scoring paths to clear this number.

Fastballs and changeups account for nearly 70% of what Cristian Javier throws against left-handed hitters.

That should play into the hands of Bryce Harper, who has gone nuclear when facing those two pitchers this season.

Harper has hit .354 with an xwOBA of nearly .500. More importantly, his barrel rate sits at 17.2% and his xSLG has cleared .700.

The Houston Astros are 26th in hard hit rate and 28th in squared up contact against righties this month. They’re not stringing together many damaging swings.

While the Philadelphia Phillies have generated more hard hit balls, they’re not finding barrels. Only the Guardians rank below the Phillies in barrels vs. RHP in September.

Play to 53%.

Mariners righty Logan Gilbert has surrendered 11 homers across his past seven starts with an unheard of .403 ISO allowed to right-handed hitters. Langford has hit 12 of his 16 homers against righties with a .210 ISO, and he’s also faced Gilbert 21 times, so there’s growing familiarity.

Logan Gilbert has the fifth-worst HR/FB rate among starters in the second half at 21.8%, along with the 11th-worst HR/9 at 2.12. He just gave up four dingers in his last start and has surrendered 11 home runs since the beginning of August. Lefties and righties are hitting him just the same for power. I'll roll with Jake Burger in this spot. I have his fair price at 20%, so there's plenty of value on a batter with nine homers in the second half. He's gone deep three times over the last three games and brings a hot bat against a cold arm, with a great price on a small slate.

Let's get one more left-handed bat against Ryan Feltner in the best home-run environment on the board. Feltner is the best HR target, and Yankee Stadium is the best backdrop for four-baggers. It makes sense to grab another left-handed Yankee bat on a small Thursday slate. Luis Garcia went deep yesterday at a similar price and has multiple hits in both games of this series. Aaron Judge is back in the lineup, and that only helps the hitters behind him, including Garcia. The Rockies' bullpen is still one of the worst in baseball and owns the dead-last second-half ERA. Garcia is good to 27%.

Hot weather and the wind blowing out creates a great environment for homers, with a 22% boost projected for this game.

Aaron Judge also shines against RyanFeltner’s pitch mix. Isolating the three pitches he uses at least 20% of the time facing righties, Judge owns a .270 ISO and remarkably high 21.3% barrel rate.

Despite an excellent 15-for-43 runs at the dish for an .824 OPS, Cruz hasn’t left the yard across his past 11 games. He’s sporting a rock-solid 18.8% blast-contact rate and 40.0% hard-hit rate during the stretch and his high-end .206 ISO for the year has similar splits (.175 against lefties and .222 against righties). As a result, I like statistical correction kicking in and Cruz homering tonight.

This Over is in play to -120 because the Pirates continue to show off at the plate with a seventh-ranked wOBA and second-ranked xwOBA over the past two weeks, and the White Sox have also played to the Over in nine of their last 13 home games (+4.40 Units / 30% ROI). So, with Chicago also ranking eighth in ISO against righties for the season, I expect the White Sox to chip in enough offensively to send this total Over the number tonight at Rate Field.

What Is An MLB Computer Pick?

MLB picks are bet suggestions based on our computer's assessment of the game. Tons of betting data goes into a computer pick, including pitching matchups, injury reports, analytics, and even recent betting trends.

How To Use MLB Computer Picks

You can use the tables above to help with your bets during the MLB season. The first section includes free, computer-generated picks for daily Major League Baseball games. Baseball bettors can choose to follow the computer, fade the computer, or simply use our computer picks as one element of their betting strategy.

This page also tees up access to deeper betting trends. For example, if a club's run line is favored, you can check their ATS trends, potentially opening up some quality underdog bets.

If you're ready to get started with MLB betting, visit our dedicated page highlighting the best MLB betting sites.

Moneyline

This is the most common and easiest wager for a bettor to make when it comes to MLB picks. Basically, to win an MLB moneyline pick, you just have to choose which team will win the game.

It's simple: if you bet the White Sox moneyline over the Red Sox and Chicago wins, you win your bet.

Run line

The run line is another name for a point spread that you may be more familiar with in NBA and NFL betting. A point spread varies in the NFL and NBA from as little as 0.5 points up to double-digit spreads. A baseball run line is almost always a 1.5-point spread.

The favorite will be -1.5 while the underdog will be +1.5. At the end of the game, if you take away 1.5 runs from the favorite or add 1.5 runs to the underdog and they end up winning the game, you win your MLB pick against the spread.

Totals (Over/Under)

Another common wager is to bet on the total in baseball, which is a bet on the total runs scored in the baseball game. You are simply choosing whether the final score will be Over or Under that total. Betting the Over/Under on a matchup is a great way to get started in MLB score predictions.

NRFI/YRFI MLB Picks

A new and emerging MLB betting market is the NRFI/YRFI bet. These are quick-hitters in which you make a wager on the O/U total of the first inning, typically set at 0.5 runs. Thus, the bet is coined as No Run First Inning or Yes Run First Inning. No need to wait a couple of hours to cash a bet when it could be done in 20 minutes or less.

First Five Innings MLB Picks

The above options, moneyline, run line, and Over/Under, can also be placed on the first five innings of a game rather than the full game. Many experienced bettors will use this approach because, typically, this will take bullpens out of the equation and make your job researching the game easier. After all, you can just focus on the starting pitchers.

MLB Picks And Parlays

If you want to combine multiple games into one mega wager, you may consider making a parlay bet. A parlay is when you pick two or more MLB games on one single betting ticket, which will increase the payout of your bet.

But it also comes with more risk, as each of those MLB picks must hit for your ticket to pay out. Our parlay calculator is a great tool to find out what your potential payout would be.

If you're looking for more MLB picks content, check out our consensus picks and prop bets pages to get your fix. While you're at it, head over to our MLB promos page to get the best bang for your buck.

MLB Player Props

Player props are a great way to hone in on an individual matchup for a game. These types of wagers will be individualized for a player: Will Shohei Ohtani hit a home run? Will Gerrit Cole get seven strikeouts? Will Paul Skenes allow two earned runs?

You simply choose whether this outcome will happen or not. Keeping up to date on daily pitching matchups and batters on a hot streak can give you a huge boost when placing player prop bets.

MLB Futures Picks

Lastly, prior to the season and even throughout the season, you can place futures bets on all the long-term awards and outcomes. You can lock in an MLB pick on who will win their division, which squad will win the World Series, or even who will win the Rookie of the Year, MVP, or Cy Young.
