Running it back with the Burger man after he cashed on an RBI single with a .105 xBA before following it up with a 369-foot flyout to the warning track. The Texas Rangers slugger has been making a ton of hard contact and barreling the ball. In his last 10 games, Burger owns a .648 xSLG and .250 ISO, with a 50% hard-hit rate and 22.7% barrel rate. He now draws Athletics left-hander Gage Jump, whose last 60 right-handed hitters have a .328 xBA, .515 xSLG and .204 ISO. Burger has also been crushing left-handed pitching, posting a .714 SLG, 1.047 OPS and .428 ISO over his last 30 at-bats. With his recent contact quality and a week since his last home run, Burger feels due to go deep tonight.
Texas has the cleanest profile on the slate with Jacob deGrom giving the Rangers real stability. He has limited hard contact lately, while the lineup owns a ridiculous 141 wRC+ over its last six games. Even if Gage Jump competes, Texas has the stronger full-game edge.
A career-high 128 innings are beginning to catch up to Houston righty Peter Lambert, and he’s posted a 4.49 xERA and 4.90 xFIP across 19 1/3 innings over his past four starts. Control has been an issue, too, with Lambert issuing 10 free passes during the skid. So, with Houston also ranking last in xwOBA and striking out at the sixth-highest clip over the past two weeks, I see value on the White Sox as an underdog. Chicago enters ranked eighth in xwOBA with a league-high walk rate during the same stretch, after all.
Both starters enter with ho-hum underlying metrics, and Chicago ranks eighth in xwOBA and first in walk rate across the past 30 days, so I anticipate the White Sox putting runs on the board. Additionally, the Astros have statistical correction coming to their 27th-ranked BABIP considering they rank 11th in hard-hit rate during the same stretch.
Tanner Gordon would rather not pitch at home, as his ERA is more than five points higher at altitude than on the road. He was recently moved back into a starter role after losing it and threw his second-highest pitch total of the season at 90 in his last turn. This is a pitcher who hasn't consistently been given a 90-pitch leash as a starter. He's 5-2 to the Under on this number as a starter and has gone 75, 74, 94, and 82 pitches in his four home starts this year. His bullpen is also fresh, with just one arm used yesterday. The Orioles are a Top-10 slugging team over the last two weeks and could easily send a fringe starter like Gordon to the showers early. The projection is 83 pitches and 14.76 outs, giving us plenty of room to attack this Under.
The Los Angeles Angels are hitting .214 against righties in August and have produced very little power.
Walbert Urena’s 87th percentile ranking in barrel rate sets him up well to limit New York's power, and the Angels have a sneaky-good bullpen backing him up.
Play to 56%.
Every five days, I need to bet on batters facing Aaron Nola to go deep. It's not an obsession; it's just good math. His 32 home runs allowed now rank second in the league, and he sits among the bottom 20 MLB starters in Barrel% since June 1. His form is decent, but he has still allowed a dinger in nine straight starts, with 13 total over those 51 innings. Lars Nootbaar at 14% is the ticket I want tonight. He's been Arizona's best bat over the last two weeks, leading the club in basically every offensive statistic while going yard three times, including twice over the weekend. There is some pinch-hit risk against lefties, but he should be batting leadoff and get his four plate appearances, with three of them coming against Nola.
Aaron Nola relies most heavily on the knuckle curve, also throwing fastballs and changeups at a healthy rate.
Corbin Carroll has a .300 ISO and 50% hard hit rate against the knuckle curve – albeit over a small sample – and ISOs above .230 facing the other two pitches.
Our experts and prediction models are hard at work analyzing the data. Check back shortly for today's picks, or explore our Computer Picks for inspiration.
MLB picks are bet suggestions based on our computer's assessment of the game. Tons of betting data goes into a computer pick, including pitching matchups, injury reports, analytics, and even recent betting trends.
You can use the tables above to help with your bets during the MLB season. The first section includes free, computer-generated picks for daily Major League Baseball games. Baseball bettors can choose to follow the computer, fade the computer, or simply use our computer picks as one element of their betting strategy.
This page also tees up access to deeper betting trends. For example, if a club's run line is favored, you can check their ATS trends, potentially opening up some quality underdog bets.

This is the most common and easiest wager for a bettor to make when it comes to MLB picks. Basically, to win an MLB moneyline pick, you just have to choose which team will win the game.
It's simple: if you bet the White Sox moneyline over the Red Sox and Chicago wins, you win your bet.
The run line is another name for a point spread that you may be more familiar with in NBA and NFL betting. A point spread varies in the NFL and NBA from as little as 0.5 points up to double-digit spreads. A baseball run line is almost always a 1.5-point spread.
The favorite will be -1.5 while the underdog will be +1.5. At the end of the game, if you take away 1.5 runs from the favorite or add 1.5 runs to the underdog and they end up winning the game, you win your MLB pick against the spread.
Another common wager is to bet on the total in baseball, which is a bet on the total runs scored in the baseball game. You are simply choosing whether the final score will be Over or Under that total. Betting the Over/Under on a matchup is a great way to get started in MLB score predictions.
A new and emerging MLB betting market is the NRFI/YRFI bet. These are quick-hitters in which you make a wager on the O/U total of the first inning, typically set at 0.5 runs. Thus, the bet is coined as No Run First Inning or Yes Run First Inning. No need to wait a couple of hours to cash a bet when it could be done in 20 minutes or less.
The above options, moneyline, run line, and Over/Under, can also be placed on the first five innings of a game rather than the full game. Many experienced bettors will use this approach because, typically, this will take bullpens out of the equation and make your job researching the game easier. After all, you can just focus on the starting pitchers.
If you want to combine multiple games into one mega wager, you may consider making a parlay bet. A parlay is when you pick two or more MLB games on one single betting ticket, which will increase the payout of your bet.
But it also comes with more risk, as each of those MLB picks must hit for your ticket to pay out. Our parlay calculator is a great tool to find out what your potential payout would be.

Player props are a great way to hone in on an individual matchup for a game. These types of wagers will be individualized for a player: Will Shohei Ohtani hit a home run? Will Gerrit Cole get seven strikeouts? Will Paul Skenes allow two earned runs?
You simply choose whether this outcome will happen or not. Keeping up to date on daily pitching matchups and batters on a hot streak can give you a huge boost when placing player prop bets.
Lastly, prior to the season and even throughout the season, you can place futures bets on all the long-term awards and outcomes. You can lock in an MLB pick on who will win their division, which squad will win the World Series, or even who will win the Rookie of the Year, MVP, or Cy Young.
