The Brewers have a rest advantage over the Rays, and so does ace Jacob Misiorowski, who starts Game 1 on 11 days' rest. He gives Milwaukee the edge in the opener and throughout the World Series.

The Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers will meet in the 2026 Fall Classic on Friday, Oct. 23, with the winner claiming its first World Series title.

Both pennant winners reached the World Series with timely hitting, sterling starting pitching, and managerial masterclasses, setting the stage for a historic series.

Here’s a statistical breakdown, along with my favorite 2026 World Series predictions and MLB picks for the Rays-Brewers matchup.

2026 World Series prediction: Brewers moneyline

The Milwaukee Brewers are 62% favorites in the latest World Series odds, and have several statistical advantages over the Tampa Bay Rays that could decide this series.

For starters, Milwaukee posted a higher wOBA and xwOBA than Tampa Bay against both left- and right-handed pitching during the regular season. The gap was especially pronounced against lefties, with the Rays ranking 27th in wOBA and 29th in xwOBA.

That trend has continued in the postseason; only the gap has widened further.

The Brewers have posted a .325 wOBA and a .334 xwOBA compared with the Rays' .289 and .287.

Milwaukee also has the home-field advantage, with Games 1 and 2 at American Family Field, and Games 6 and 7 there, if necessary.

The Brewers went 55-26 at home and ranked third in wOBA, while the Rays went a mere 43-38 on the road and ranked 16th in wOBA.

Milwaukee has another huge organizational edge: Tampa Bay starters Drew Rasmussen and Freddy Peralta both made their MLB debuts with the Brewers.

The Brewers' familiarity with Rasmussen and Peralta will be the final piece of the Brew Crew's championship puzzle.

2026 MLB World Series MVP prediction: Jacob Misiorowski

If there's any question about who the best pitcher in baseball is, there won’t be after the World Series.

Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski — trading at 13% in the World Series MVP odds at Polymarket — has held opposing hitters to a minuscule .248 wOBA and .052 ISO across 20 1/3 postseason innings. He held batters to a league-low .226 xwOBA during the regular season.

Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy has benefited from Misiorowski throwing just 182 pitches across 8 1/3 innings in the Brewers' first two rounds of the 2026 playoffs. Milwaukee's go-to righty will be fully rested and available for multiple starts — and potential relief appearances — if the series goes long enough against Tampa Bay.

Misiorowski will start Game 1 on 11 days' rest. The Brewers carefully managed his workload during the regular season, limiting the NL Cy Young favorite to just 174 2/3 innings over his 30 starts.
