Euro 2024 is just three days away and France's Euro 2024 odds have them as second-favorites to win the competition.

The 2022 World Cup runners-up lost on penalties to Argentina and were bounced from the 2020 Euro in the Round of 16. But with a core of young talent just hitting their prime, Didier Deschamps’ side is a popular pick to lift the trophy in the Euro 2024 odds.

Kylian Mbappe is perhaps the best player in the world, and the forward just made a huge move from PSG to Real Madrid. But before he dons the famous white kit, he will put on the iconic French shirt and look to lead Les Bleus to victory and join the small group of players with both a World Cup and a European Championship.

Let’s take a look at the soccer betting odds for France ahead of the tournament.

France expected starting XI for Euro 2024

  • Maignan; Hernandez, Konate, Pavard, Kounde; Camavinga, Tchouameni; Mbappe, Griezmann, Dembele; Giroud

France has the deepest and most balanced squad of any in the tournament by far. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan of AC Milan will man the posts in front of a team that limits opportunities for their opponents.

All eyes will be on the central partnership for France, as it could be their undoing. French reporters have indicated that Deschamps is set to stick with Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano over William Saliba of Arsenal, despite the former being benched by his club and Saliba having a stellar season. Whoever is chosen will likely partner Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate in the back line with Theo Hernandez of AC Milan and Jonathan Clauss of Marseille flanking them.

France will be hopeful that defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is fit for the start of the tournament, as he was arguably Real Madrid’s best midfielder this season. But they have options with N’Golo Kante and Eduardo Camavinga.

Antoine Griezmann of Barcelona will continue his attacking role from the midfield trio, while PSG midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery has impressed at age 18 and could be a key player off the bench.

In attack, all eyes will be on Mbappe, while PSG teammate Ousmane Dembele will line up on the other wing. Olivier Giroud of LAFC is expected to man the striker position as he looks to maintain his spot as the all-time leading goalscorer in national team history. Marcus Thuram of Inter will back him up, and Kingsley Coman of Bayern Munich could displace Dembele should he be fit.

France best bet for Euro 2024

Over 6.5 points in group play (-108 at Betano)

The French open with Austria, a team missing their captain and lacking a reliable striker. While the Austrians are no push-overs, I don’t see France dropping points given their form and talent.

That leads us to the second matchday. France will square off with the Dutch, and they’re familiar foes. The Netherlands and Les Bleus met twice in the Nations League qualifiers, and Deschamps’ squad walked away with 4-0 and 2-1 victories. The Dutch have real question marks in the midfield, and that will be their undoing as France gets another win.

The third and final matchday for France sees them facing off with Poland. Pending the Poles’ results in their first two matches, this could be nothing more than a swan song for Robert Lewandowski. Deschamps will probably rotate which could lead to a draw, but he’ll want to ensure they win the group which means that’s the worst result he’ll settle for.

Back France to walk out of the group stage with at least seven points to their name, which is a strong play given the price of -118 at Betano.
