Manchester United vs Manchester City picks and predictions

My Manchester United vs Manchester City top pick: Draw (25% probability)

Several reasons suggest the two managers on the touchline will be confident their teams can collect points.

Under their head coach Michael Carrick, Manchester United are on a formidable run of 10 wins from their last 11 home fixtures.

Carrick will also draw confidence from the fact that he oversaw an impressive 2-0 EPL home win over City in the corresponding fixture last season, which was his first game as Manchester United manager following his appointment in January 2026.

For Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca and the visitors, the main positive is their current form: the Citizens arrive on a run of three straight EPL victories (seven goals scored, two conceded).

Thanks to two goals from Erling Haaland, City also won 2-0 at FC Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday. That comfortable victory in Portugal means they are now unbeaten in their last seven away games in all competitions (W4-D3-L0).

Taking all factors into account, the best-value moneyline selection is the Draw. The 25% probability underrates the chances of these two teams picking up one point each given how well-matched they are.

Manchester United vs Manchester City same-game parlay (SGP)

Draw

Over 2.5 goals

The main reason I believe the Over 2.5 Goals line will be broken is Manchester United's erratic defense this season.

The hosts have conceded two goals in each of their three EPL games so far: away to Hull City (2-0 defeat), Everton (2-2 draw), and at home to Ipswich Town (5-2 win).

The Red Devils' poor defensive record suggests they will need to attack well to pick up points, and that their forwards are more likely to dictate how this game unfolds.
