Boasting a resolute backline and a peak-form Bukayo Saka, Arsenal possess all the tools necessary to dethrone PSG in the Champions League Final.

The biggest game in club soccer is here with Budapest playing host to PSG and Arsenal’s Champions League final battle, that sees the reigning UCL champions look to retain their title against the English side.

PSG’s acclaimed attack needs no introduction but Arsenal’s recent successes have all been based on tight defensive work, which is why my Arsenal vs. PSG predictions expect the game to finish with Under 2.5 goals.

Read on for my Champions League final picks for Saturday, May 30 with kickoff at 12 p.m. ET on CBS.

Arsenal vs PSG picks and predictions

My Arsenal vs PSG best betUnder 2.5 goals (-125 at Sports Interaction)

I’m confident that Arsenal won’t make the mistakes that Inter did against PSG in last season’s final, with this team built with a defense-first mentality.

The Gunners have allowed just six goals across their 14 Champions League fixtures this season. Of those six goals only three came from open play, with two being penalties and one being a set piece.

Under 2.5 goals has been a winner in eight of their 14 games, including all six knockout games, in those knockout stages they’ve allowed just two goals, keeping four clean sheets.

These two teams have met three times since both Luis Enrique and Mikel Arteta were in charge and there have been just six goals, with two of three games finishing with Under 2.5 goals.

Everyone is expecting goals but the data points to Under 2.5 goals being the way to bet this game, I’d take that until the odds break the -130 mark.

Arsenal to lift the trophy

Bukayo Saka 3+ shots

William Saliba 1+ fouls

I’ve been bullish on Arsenal’s chances in this competition all season and Mikel Arteta’s tight defense is the way to take down PSG. He won’t allow defenders to get caught out of position like Vincent Kompany did for Bayern Munich. PSG have the third most goals on the counter attack in the competition and Arsenal are one of just a few teams yet to concede a goal on the counter this season.

Bukayo Saka is in good form for the Gunners and peaking at just the right time. In his last seven starts across all competitions Saka has averaged three shots per game. With four goals contributions in his past four games he’ll be full of confidence, especially with Nuno Mendes pushing up aggressively in possession, which could create space on the counter.

The right side of PSG’s attack is terrifying with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia a foul magnet, winning 2.51 fouls per 90 minutes played in the UCL this season.

With the fitness of Jurrien Timber in question, we’re not sure who’ll be opposite him at right back, but right sided central defender William Saliba will be dragged across at times and the Frenchman has conceded 1.36 fouls per 90 minutes in this competition this season.

Add in the dangers of Ousmane Dembele, and his electric pace, and Saliba is the smart play to pick up a foul. Play this SGP at anything above +500.
