Those goals were well earned, as the Americans controlled 71.9% of the slot shot share, the largest of any team in the tournament. That’s no small feat, even in a relatively weak group.
Sweden has allowed nearly twice as many chances as the USA — albeit over one extra game — and won’t have a reigning Vezina winner between the pipes to bail them out.
With the USA possessing so many high-end finishers, it will generate the needed separation to cover the spread.
