The St. Louis Blues welcome the San Jose Sharks to Enterprise Center tonight as 59% favorites, with puck drop set for 8 p.m. ET.
Blues goaltender Joel Hofer is in great form for St. Louis, which is why I’m siding with the hosts in my Sharks vs. Blues prediction.

TOP PICK
Sharks vs Blues prediction: Blues moneyline
The St. Louis Blues are not expected to be a great team this season, but the San Jose Sharks are in even worse shape right now. I’d play the Blues up to 61% tonight.
San Jose will be without captain Macklin Celebrini due to a lower-body injury, leaving their offense in shambles.
Celebrini has factored on five of the Sharks’ nine goals so far this season, and he factored on 46.2% of his team’s tallies last year – the second-highest rate in the NHL behind Connor McDavid (48.9%).
Goaltending is also a disaster in San Jose, with Yaroslav Askarov posting a 3.86 GAA and .862 SV% through three games.
Meanwhile, Joel Hofer has been one of the best netminders in the league early on, ranking eighth in goals saved above expected (2.7).

Sharks vs Blues combo
Robert Thomas has not found the score sheet yet this season, but he’s led the Blues in points in three straight campaigns. It’s only a matter of time before Thomas gets rolling, and I think he’ll pick up at least one point tonight against a Sharks team that’s allowing 4 goals per game.
Connor McMichael is off to a hot start in his first season with St. Louis, logging three points in three games. He’s been an offensive catalyst with a team-leading eight shots, five high-danger chances, and 1.24 individual expected goals.
Sharks vs Blues combo
- Blues moneyline
- Robert Thomas 1+ points
- Connor McMichael 1+ points
Sharks vs Blues player prop: Connor McMichael 2+ shots
McMichael has already emerged as an integral part of the Blues offense, logging 2+ shots in back-to-back games, including five shots on net and two points against the Blackhawks last time out.
The Sharks are allowing the fifth-most shot attempts (45.68) and fourth-most scoring chances (33.77) per game this season, so I expect the speedy McMichael to find plenty of room to maneuver and get pucks on net.
Sharks vs Blues goal scorer: Connor McMichael
McMichael has been a power-play threat with one goal as well as a team-high four shots and 0.77 individual expected goals on the man advantage.
The Sharks penalty kill is operating at just 75%, with nearly seven minutes of PK time per game. I suspect McMichael will take advantage with another power-play goal tonight.
