Sam Bennett has been a thorn in the Rangers' side all series long, and our NHL picks think him to record a point makes an excellent addition to our SGP.

It’s win-or-go-home time for the New York Rangers in the NHL’s Eastern Conference Final.

With a tough Game 5 win, the Florida Panthers will have two shots to punch their ticket to back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances, beginning with Game 6 in Sunrise tonight.

In a series filled with big-time scorers and performers, our NHL picks center around some of the lesser-heralded band members in the spotlight. Let’s start our Rangers vs. Panthers same-game parlay with one of Florida's skaters who's stepping up of late.

Rangers vs Panthers same-game parlay picks June 1

  • Bennett Over 0.5 points
  • Lafreniere Over 0.5 points
  • Shesterkin Over 2.5 goals against

Best Rangers vs Panthers SGP for Saturday

Sam Bennett Over 0.5 points

Alexis Lafreniere Over 0.5 points

Igor Shesterkin Over 2.5 goals against

Sam Bennett might only be the Florida Panthers' fifth-best scoring center in these playoffs, but he’s stepped up in the East Final. Bennett had a goal and an assist in Florida’s 3-2 win in Game 5 — the second straight game he’s scored a goal.

In fact, Bennett has had at least a point in four of five games against the Rangers, something only Carter Verhaeghe and Gustav Forling have accomplished among Florida’s Top 7 scorers.

With most of the New York Rangers' top marksmen firing blanks, Alexis Lafreniere has been one of the few consistent scorers the Rangers can throw on the ice. Lafreniere picked up a goal in the Game 5 loss, the third straight game he’s lit the lamp, and fourth overall in this series.

That’s more goals than Mika Zibanejad (zero), Artemi Panarin (zero), Chris Kreider (one), Vincent Trochek (two), and Jack Roslovic (zero) combined. With those icy numbers, let’s stay with Lafreniere to pick up at least a point in Florida.

I'll wrap with Rangers’ goalie Igor Shesterkin, whose goals-against line is set at 2.5 Saturday night.

After allowing three goals just once in a four-game sweep of the Caps in Round 1, he's allowed at least three goals in seven of the next 11 games, including twice in the last three to the Panthers.

Florida has been peppering him of late, putting up at least 36 shots in each of those three contests.

With a chance to clinch at home, the Panthers should be testing Shesterkin early and often, and the results should be much the same, leaning me to the Over.
