Flames goalie Jacob Markstrom has stonewalled his former Canucks teammates, picking up all three wins against Vancouver and stopping 90 of 93 total shots.

With love in the air, the NHL is bringing us a full slate of Saturday games for our Valentine’s Eve betting needs.

We’re getting a little Over action on a matinee, taking a home underdog for the evening game and capping the night off with a West-Coast road favorite.

We break down the odds and bring our best predictions for NHL hockey for Saturday, February 13.

NHL Picks for Today

Vegas Golden Knights vs San Jose Sharks

At a combined 16-7 O/U on the year, this Knights vs Sharks matchup has one of the best Over potentials of the early games.

The Sharks are allowing the third-most goals per game at 3.75 and goalie Martin Jones is partially responsible for that. The San Jose goalie has allowed at least three goals in five straight starts and is coming off a six-goal shelling that saw him get pulled late in the third.

Opponents have not even needed an extra man to score against San Jose, as they’re the third-worst 5-on-5 defensive team in the league — allowing 2.5 even-strength goals per game.

Las Vegas is coming off a 1-0 shutout loss to the very underappreciated John Gibson, but was riding a four-game Over streak before the loss.

In seven of its 11 games, the Vegas offense has scored at least four goals. Following the four games that it was held to two goals or fewer, Las Vegas has bounced back to score at least four in the following game. San Jose is the perfect opponent to keep this trending.

PREDICTION: LV/SJ Over 6 (-125)

Carolina Hurricane vs Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars held a late 3-2 second-period lead against the Hurricanes on Thursday, but failed to secure the victory in a 5-3 loss.

Goalie Anton Khudobin failed to come up with timely saves and was slightly embarrassed on the eventual game-winning goal. The veteran goalie has lost four straight starts and allowed 15 goals over that stretch.

Moneypuck.com had the Stars at 73 percent to win that game, as they had 3.9 expected goals compared to Carolina’s 3.4.

Dallas will likely go with rookie goalie Jake Oettinger on Saturday. The former first-round pick has been the better of the two Dallas goalies and is coming off two solid starts where he allowed just four goals in 60 shots. Khudobin is 0-3 SU versus Carolina, so a change is inevitable.

Even without forward Tyler Seguin, the Stars are too good of a team to drop five in a row. They have a Top-10 scoring offense that is powered by the league’s fifth-best power play. They’ve played well at home this year — picking up 10 of a possible 14 points.

We’re banging the home dogs on Saturday.

PREDICTION: Dallas ML (+105)

Calgary Flames vs Vancouver Canucks

The nightcap features a pair of Western rivals in the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames. Vancouver has dropped six straight games and has been outscored 29-11 over the slump.

Calgary has taken all three matchups this year and has surrendered just three goals. Former Vancouver goalie Jacob Markstrom has stonewalled his former team, picking up all three wins and stopping 90 of 93 total shots. The Canucks have no answer for Markstrom, who they let walk in free agency this last year.

The Flames have ripped off three straight wins versus three separate opponents, which is a rare occurrence in the league this year. What’s not rare is Calgary picking up victories in Vancouver, as the Flames are 7-2 SU in their last nine games in B.C.

Vancouver goalie Braden Holtby will likely draw the start. The veteran netminder has allowed three or more goals in six of his seven starts this year and has given up 14 goals in his previous three starts.

It’s been a rough year for Vancouver and things could still get worse before they get better.

PREDICTION: Calgary ML (-135)
