Adrian Kempe will be the focus of tonight's Oilers vs. Kings predictions, as he was a dominant force for the second straight contest, scoring two of Los Angeles’ five goals in the win, building his reputation as an Oilers slayer.

My analysis
Adrian Kempe’s reputation as an Edmonton Oilers slayer grew Wednesday as he potted two more goals on seven shots to bring his totals up to three goals and four points in this series. The
Los Angeles Kings sniper has made a habit of scoring in bunches against Edmonton, and I’ll look for him to do the same tonight with another tally.
Since Kempe played his first postseason game against the Oilers in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, he leads all skaters in the NHL with 10 goals and 18 points vs Edmonton — double the goal total of anyone else in the league.
The Kings forward has been all over the ice through two games in this series, scoring at least one goal in both contests while putting a team-leading 12 shots on net. Per Natural Stat Trick, Kempe also tops Los Angeles in individual expected goals at 5-on-5 (1.35) — nearly a goal more than his next-closest teammate — as well as scoring chances (9) and high-danger chances (6).
Although he didn’t put up any eye-popping totals to close out the season, Kempe has been riding quite the hot streak in terms of shooting percentage over the last month. From March 30 until the end of the regular season, Kempe scored six goals in 10 games while converting on 23.1% of his shots.
Kempe’s shooting percentage has remained steady in this series at 25%, and if he keeps averaging six shots per game like he’s done through two contests, he should have no problem potting another goal.

Along with a Kempe goal, I’ll also take Zach Hyman to score at any time in Game 3. Hyman had a hat trick in Game 1 and added one more goal in Game 2. He leads all players in the series with 10 scoring chances and 10 high-danger chances at 5-on-5 per Natural Stat Trick.
The clubs have combined for at least nine goals in both games so far, which is why I’ll round out my same-game parlay by taking the Over on 6.5 goals.
