Maple Leafs vs Canadiens prediction

Maple Leafs vs Canadiens Best bet: Joseph Woll Over 23.5 saves (-120)

It’s time to renew the rivalry as the Montreal Canadiens host the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at the Bell Centre.

It’s the second meeting of the season, with Toronto taking the first contest 5-2.

However, the Leafs will look far different tonight than they did on opening night, as the injury report continues to grow.

The Leafs will be without Auston Matthews, Matthew Knies, Nicolas Roy, and Chris Tanev tonight. All of which play a large role in defending.

They’ll also be without Anthony Stolarz, which means Joseph Woll will make his fourth straight start.

He’s made 29+ saves in each of the three previous games, as the team ranks 29th in the NHL in shots allowed per game, allowing an average of 31 per contest.

That leaves plenty of cushion for Woll to reach the lowly 24-save mark and cash the over tonight.

Montreal enters tonight in a five-game losing streak, but they’ve shown signs of life offensively against, posting 28 or more shots on net in three straight contests.

Maple Leafs vs Canadiens same-game parlay

The Leafs are 9-1 on the moneyline over the last 10 meetings, winning four in a row, while going 3-1 on the puck line. With Toronto showing signs of improvement and Montreal in defensive freefall, I’ll add Leafs +1.5 to my SGP.

For my final leg, I’ll continue to fade the Habs defense and add Toronto to go Over 2.5 total goals tonight. Montreal has kept just one team under that total in its last 10 games. Toronto has scored 3+ in eight of its previous 10 meetings against Montreal.
