Lane Hutson is one of the league's best facilitators from the blueline, and he's off to a productive start with 10 helpers through 14 games.
He has an enticing matchup against a Winnipeg Jets team bleeding goals, and Nick Suzuki is expected to return, so I'm backing Hutson to pick up another assist with my NHL predictions.
Let's comb through the full card of NHL picks for Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Pick #1: Lane Hutson Over 0.5 assists
Lane Hutson to record an assist is playable to 60%.
Hutson ranks second among all defensemen in assists since the beginning of last season.
He is a top-tier facilitator from the backend and has even more responsibility on his plate as the Montreal Canadiens continue to be without Nick Suzuki.
The Winnipeg Jets are 28th in goals against, 26th in shots against, and 24th in penalty kill percentage, offering a great matchup across the board.
Isolating Bottom-10 teams in goals allowed, Hutson has assisted in 23 of 31 games dating back to last year.
- Matchup: Winnipeg Jets vs. Montreal Canadiens
- Time: 7:00 p.m. ET
- Location: Bell Centre, Montreal
- TV: SN+, ESPN+
Pick #2: Adam Fantilli Over 0.5 points
I’m on Adam Fantilli for a point to 59%.
Fantilli is skating on the top line alongside Matthew Knies and Kent Johnson, and the early returns are promising.
They have controlled 54.4% of the expected goal share while scoring 3.34 goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5.
Fantilli is also a focal point on the top power play, where he trails only Zach Werenski in shot attempts.
The Colorado Avalanche are in a road back-to-back, and they’ve been leaky when fatigued this season. They’ve allowed nine goals over three games and more than 30 shots per night.
- Matchup: Colorado Avalanche vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
- Time: 7:00 p.m. ET
- Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus
- TV: SN+, ESPN+
Pick #3: Sean Walker Over 1.5 shots
Sean Walker is playable for 2+ shots to 61%.
The Carolina Hurricanes are a dominant 5-on-5 team that generates shots as efficiently as anybody, and Walker plays a big part in that.
Walker trails only Logan Stankoven in shot attempts during that state.
The volume should remain strong against the Nashville Predators. They are conceding a hair under 29 shots per game and tied for the fifth-most shots to opposing defensemen.
They also rank dead last in shots allowed to the right point, which is where a lot of Walker’s volume comes from.
- Matchup: Carolina Hurricanes vs. Nashville Predators
- Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
