The Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets are set to do battle in Ohio tonight.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson has been a lone bright spot on the blue line lately for the slumping Buds, and my Maple Leafs vs. Blue Jackets predictions expect him to provide offense once again tonight.

Maple Leafs vs Blue Jackets prediction

Maple Leafs vs Blue Jackets Best bet: Oliver Ekman-Larsson Over 0.5 points (-105)

The Toronto Maple Leafs' most complete defenseman over the last few weeks has surely been Oliver Ekman-Larsson

He’s been thrust into a top-pair role due to injuries on the Buds’ blue line, and he’s filled in quite admirably. The veteran defender is averaging 22+ minutes per night in November, with nine total points through 11 games.

In fact, OEL is currently on a six-game point streak and has registered at least one point in nine of his last 10 games, including a helper last week against this very Columbus Blue Jackets team.

Despite being a short-handed group, the Leafs should still be able to provide offense tonight, considering the Jackets allow an average of 31.39 shots and 3.3 goals per game.

Additionally, the Jackets' PK has been awful this season, killing off just 73% of their penalties. Toronto’s PP hasn’t been much better, but this could be a matchup to get it going, and OEL should be part of that success as the QB of PP1.

Maple Leafs vs Blue Jackets same-game parlay

Both teams have defensive issues and have surrendered more than three goals a game on average, so I’ll take Over 6.0 total goals as the second leg of my SGP. Additionally, the Over is 17-5 in Leafs games this year.

The Jackets are allowing the third most shots on net in the NHL, and John Tavares leads the Leafs with 66 shots — averaging 3.44 per game in his last nine.

With Auston Matthews out again tonight, I expect Johnny T to be a focal point of the offense and fire away at the goalie with regularity.
