Maple Leafs vs Blackhawks Best bet: William Nylander Over 0.5 assists (-155)
The Toronto Maple Leafs aim to break their four-game losing streak tonight when they head out onto the road to take on the Chicago Blackhawks.
They’ll be extremely shorthanded without Chris Tanev, Anthony Stolarz and now Auston Matthews who will be out at least a week with a lower-body injury.
Scoring hasn’t necessarily been an issue for Toronto, who average 3.61 goals per game. However, they’ll need someone to step up in Matthews’ absence to keep that average up.
Enter William Nylander.
He’s been the breadwinner offensively for the Buds all season long with a team-leading 25 points and has registered at least 1+ assist in 10 of his last 12 games, totaling 14 total helpers in that stretch.
Nylander will be reunited with John Tavares as well tonight, who co-leads the Leafs in goals with nine, having scored in four of his last five games. If that trend continues, there’s a good chance Nylander is in on the action as well to cash the Over on his 0.5 assists prop.
Additionally, Nylander’s also had a lot of success against the Blackhawks with an assist in six of his last seven meetings against Chicago, with eight total assists registered in that span.

I expect the top line to contribute offensively tonight, so let’s add John Tavares to score an anytime goal to my SGP.
He has a goal in four of the last five games and has 11 goals in 10 games against the Hawks since becoming a Maple Leafs, including goals in six of his last eight games against them.
For my final leg, I’ll take Over 6.5 goals. The Leafs can’t defend, but they can score. They’re 4th in goals per game, but dead last in goals against.
This has led to a lot of high-scoring games this season. The Over has hit in 11 straight games for the Maple Leafs.
