Canadiens vs Devils prediction
Canadiens vs Devils Best bet: Under 6.5 (-125)
The New Jersey Devils play extremely sound hockey on home soil. They have given up a league-low 1.80 goals per game and check a lot of boxes defensively.
Opposing teams have generated just 24.8 shots per game and converted on less than 6% of their power plays. The Devils have limited offenses across the board.
The Montreal Canadiens are plenty capable of doing the same. The Canadiens rank 10th in 5-on-5 shot suppression and 26th in pace over the past 10 games, suppressing shots well while playing a very controlled game.
They’ll have Jakub Dobes between the pipes to clean up any mistakes made in front of him. He owns a 6-0 record and .930 save percentage on the year, and sits fifth in Goals Saved Above Expected, sandwiched between Connor Hellebuyck and Thatcher Demko. Pretty good company!
This is a big measuring-stick game between the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference. With both teams rested and their best goaltending options available, there shouldn’t be a ton of offense.
Canadiens vs Devils same-game parlay
Nick Suzuki has shot the puck a lot more on the road. He is averaging 2.6 shots on 5.3 attempts and has cleared this line in six of seven away games.
The Canadiens have given up the ninth-most shots to defensemen this season, and Luke Hughes is absorbing some extra ice with fellow Top-4 blueliner Brett Pesce sidelined.
