Although it’s been a turbulent month, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers enter Week 14 off a massive win over the East-leading Montreal Alouettes, and a road matchup against the Saskatchewan Roughriders gives Zach Collaros & Co. another opportunity to get back into the Grey Cup conversation.
My Blue Bombers vs. Roughriders predictions believe the road side isn’t getting enough credit as a 5.5-point underdog, and I’ll break it all down in my CFL picks for Sunday, Sept. 6, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. ET on TSN.
Who will win Blue Bombers vs Roughriders: Blue Bombers +5.5 (-112)
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers hung 44 points on Montreal last week, and a Labour Day weekend matchup against the Saskatchewan Roughriders offers another chance for them to stay hot on offence.
Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros is coming off his best outing of the season, throwing for 324 yards and two passing touchdowns in last week’s home win over the Alouettes. He’ll have an opportunity to exploit a Riders defence that is without star corner Rolan Milligan Jr. and allowing a 67.2% completion rate this season, with only winless Ottawa ranking worse.
Meanwhile, Winnipeg has also leaned back into using Brady Oliveira to his full potential, as the former MOP is averaging 106.6 rushing yards per game over his last five contests.
Saskatchewan has lost two of its last three and is now running into a Bombers scoring unit that’s starting to click on all cylinders. Taking Winnipeg on the spread is playable to +3.5.

Blue Bombers vs Roughriders total prediction: Under 56.5 (-110)
These two sides have historically played to lower-scoring totals, with the Under cashing in both head-to-head meetings last season.
For the Roughriders, QB Trevor Harris has looked out of sorts for a few weeks now, and it won’t help that wide receivers Kian Schaffer-Baker and Samuel Emilus remain on the IL.
At 56.5, this total is set too high, as the highest total between these two teams dating back to 2023 has been 52.5.
Playable down to 54.5.

Winnipeg’s pass defence continues to be the unit’s biggest strength, with Jordan Younger’s group sitting first in passing yards allowed while also surrendering the fewest first downs through the air.
There’s a clear path for both legs to hit without needing Winnipeg to win outright, but I’d also consider the Bombers on the moneyline if the two-leg SGP reaches +475 or better.
