The Boston Bruins have struggled to keep the puck out of their net, allowing three goals or more in six of the past seven.

My Bruins vs. Senators predictions see two-way defenseman Jake Sanderson taking full advantage in what should be a productive night for the home team. Let’s take a closer look at my NHL picks for October 27.

Bruins vs Senators prediction

Bruins vs Senators Best bet: Jake Sanderson Over 0.5 points (-115)

Jake Sanderson piled up the points at home a season ago. That hasn’t yet carried over into this year, but there are signs the production should come.

Sanderson ranks second on the Ottawa Senators, behind only Shane Pinto, in shot attempts at home, having generated 28 through just five games. He’s getting involved in the offense.

The Sens have scored four goals during Sanderson’s minutes, and he only picked up a point on one of them. His involvement rate of 25% is less than half of what he posted last year.

These kinds of things can happen in small samples, but we should expect Sanderson’s involvement rate to increase moving forward.

This is a good matchup for the tide to turn. The Boston Bruins have struggled mightily to keep the puck out, giving up 3.5 goals per game thus far.

It hasn’t mattered much who starts in goal for them. Jeremy Swayman has performed better than Joonas Korpisalo, but even so, the Bruins have conceded at least three goals in six of the last seven.

This is a good spot for Ottawa’s offense to put up a decent number. If they do, Sanderson should get in on the fun.

Bruins vs Senators same-game parlay

Tim Stutzle sits second on the Senators in assists and has recorded as many scoring chances as anybody on the roster.

Charlie McAvoy has averaged 1.7 shots per game and gone under in six of 10 thus far. His numbers have dipped significantly on the road, where he’s produced just 1.3 shots on 2.8 attempts.

With backup Leevi Merilainen between the pipes, the Bruins are more likely to have a competent offensive performance. Elias Lindholm plays on the top line and No. 1 power play unit alongside David Pastrnak, making him a good candidate to benefit.

Bruins vs Senators SGP

  • Jake Sanderson Over 0.5 points
  • Tim Stutzle Over 0.5 points
  • Charlie McAvoy Under 1.5 shots
  • Elias Lindholm Over 0.5 points
