Blues vs Maple Leafs prediction

Blues vs Maple Leafs Best bet: John Tavares Over 2.5 shots (-135)

The Toronto Maple Leafs aim to end their five-game losing streak tonight when they host the St. Louis Blues at the Scotiabank Arena. Despite the loss, Toronto showed signs of a turnaround in its last game against Chicago.

The Leafs outshot the Hawks 33-32, marking just the second time in their last eight they had more shots than their opponent.

I expect that to continue into tonight’s game against the Blues, who have given up 32 shots against over their last eight games.

Thus, I’ll be targeting the Maple Leafs’ shot market tonight. John Tavares is averaging 2.94 shots per game and has gone Over this number in 11 of his last 13 games.

Tavares has taken on a larger load over the last few games with Matthews’ absence, going from an average of 17:25 of ice time to 21:55 since being elevated to the top center spot.

This provides more opportunities to register higher shot totals.
