The Seattle Seahawks will be without Sam Darnold this week, but our NFL survivor pool expert picks are still confident Drew Lock will be just fine against the struggling Arizona Cardinals.

The Seahawks are the focus for two of our experts, with Seattle no doubt motivated to capitalize on a favorable matchup after dropping three of its last four games to far tougher opponents.

Our NFL picks are also leaning on the Dallas Cowboys, who just lost to the Cardinals. But they now get another appealing matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, who are amid a selloff before the trade deadline.

Dustin Saracini’s expert pick: Cowboys

The Indianapolis Colts are just an absolute disaster after losing four straight games and giving up 118 points over that span. The quarterback situation only makes their outlook worse, with Daniel Jones getting benched briefly last week for the underwhelming Anthony Richardson.

While Jonathan Taylor should have his way with a rush defense allowing 154 yards per game on the ground, Indy's offense ultimately won't be able to keep up with the third-best red-zone offense in football. Give me the Dallas Cowboys.

Josh Inglis' survivor pick: Cowboys

We took the easiest win of Week 8 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and now let's fade the Colts again this week. The Cowboys need to put together their best effort of the season in Week 9 after a Week 8 collapse.

It's a road game, but they'll be playing indoors, which suits their offense. There's also the possibility that Taylor gets shipped out this week, along with potentially other key pieces for Indy.

Joe Osborne's survivor pick: Seahawks

If ever there was a get-right/bounce back spot, this is it for the Seattle Seahawks, who are coming off a bad loss at home to the Bears. And if ever there was an extreme letdown spot, this might also be it for the Arizona Cardinals, who are fresh off a dramatic comeback win in Dallas.

Seattle has won 10 straight games against Arizona, with seven coming by double digits. Currently on the outside of the playoff picture, Seattle can’t and won’t take this opponent lightly.

Geoff Clark’s expert pick: Seahawks

I'm kind of forcing Seattle here since QB Sam Darnold is out with an injury. But this is the best week to use the Seahawks, who beat the brakes off the Cardinals 31-7 in Week 2 with backup signal-caller Drew Lock under center. Plus, Seattle is 6-1 straight up as a favorite in division games under head coach Mike Macdonald.
